I read the introduction then just . Those pages alone were nonsense and didn't make me want to read the 30+ pages that followed. I loved the early days of Dave's comedy when I first saw him on HBO circa 1995. He was funny, endearing and clever. As the years went on and I'd see him interviews, something changed in him. Basically, he always seemed high on something. I don't believe there's some sort of theory. The author of that site is talking about some consortium of black leaders and writes as if they all gathered in black robes to plot his downfall. It's all too DaVinci Code for me.

Dave spent too much time getting high and lost his mind. Sad, but that's the way it seems.

I have a friend who also became paranoid and ended up in a mental asylum after he had his breakthrough in showbiz but he was much younger than Chappelle. You normally don´t get such symptoms after a certain age.
Sounds like schizophrenia to me ( psychotic episode).Interesting thing is that this happens quite often to people whose art deals with politics in a broader sense.

That website might be full of bullshit but I´ve read elsewhere that Dave Chappelle was becoming more and more paranoid.

I believe the people mentioned in the "conspiracy" were very unhappy with his show and when it cames time to film season 3 either Dave or Comedy Central wanted to tone it down because of pressure from these high profile people and the other (either Dave or the network) disagreed with toning it down. I think Dave wanted to tone it down and the network was getting too many good ratings to take that risk

That was actually a fabricated story that Dave's co-writer and Charlie Murphy came up with.....

Frankly, I found it all to be from the hogwash department when the authors kept placing the "Dark Crusaders" in the most unlikely scenes for the purpose of scaring LaChapelle; the Al Sharpton photo in the kid's room comes to mind...

Yeah, I thought it was all a bunch of phooey....but I DID get into the entertainment factor of it though! It made for good reading!
