I drin k a ginseng tonic with vitamin b every day and I also drink protein shakes. Make sure you get a good product.Black tea and coffee are also good in moderate amounts if you´re not already addicted to them.Eat plenty of fruits.

but what i want to know, really, is if i take ginseng or drink
more coffee to get more energy: where does the nrg come from??

that's right, out of my own body, so in the long run this will
make me even more tired since it depletes my own resources.

what KoolEaze said is a good idea, take a slight stimulant but
also stock up on extra proteins and some "good" fats and also
some good carbs. not all fat and carb is bad!

I've recently bought a juicer and every other day i juice some
0.75 liters of fresh vegetable or fruit juices (or a mix) and
added to that a daily intake of 2 caps royal jelly.

stopped smoking, went on a very moderate excercise programm nd
limited my coffee intake from 10+ to only 2 small cups a day.

just remember that very often, being tired is the result of an
overload of stimulants. taking more stimulants only makes the
problem worse. the best thing to do is eat many whole foods &
unrefined products. cut out "white" sugars and coffee and black
tea and replace for herbal and green tea.

drink lots of water to eliminate built ups of toxin from your
body as you moderately do some excercise (like walking a mile
or two, a couple of times a day in your own tempo and only if
it doesn't wear you out).

In all honesty detest the stuff myself.

Shanti, please disregard my comment above. Fizzy "tonic" drinks like Red Bull are laden with caffeine and will do your energy levels no good at all. Once the initial high wears off you will feel like a lead ballon.

My advice is to eradicate flour and fried food from your diet.

Maintain a daily intake of five portions of fruit and drink plenty of water. Add some fibre to your diet and your energy levels will soon begin to improve.

the added benefit of this is that by eating whole foods
and drinking freshly pressed juices, plus eating a diet
with lots of wholewheat products, dark bread, fish and
not too much red meats, plus herbal and green tea added
with about a liter of water each day, you not only get
an energy boost, but it's also simply very healthy for
you. -it slows down the ageing, cleans your organs and
arteries and eliminates built up toxins. coupled with a
bit of dancing and walking or swimming, it's just about
the best thing you can do for your body in the long run

a recommended read would be

"Healing with Whole Foods"
Asian Tradition & Modern Nutrition

(third edition, 2002 print)

by Paul Pitchford. it's a bit expensive but it's a good
place to start. very well put together and a welth of
information on all kinds of food and conditions plus an
amazing amount of cool recipies and references.

Thanks everyone !
I have been feeling a bit sluggish lately. I started taking some liquid vitamins that are supposed to boost energy quickly.
I try to stay away from caffeine, my weakness is sugar!
I get a good amount of fiber and only eat whole grains. I do not like fried foods. I think some of my problem is coming from some new meds the dr just started me on. I also have sinus problems which makes you tired.
I will continue my liquid vits and try to eat more fruits & veggies.

Reincarnate

I'm a big fan of juicing raw fruit and vegetables.

I find that green veg (sprouts or spinach) with a couple of carrots and an apple or peach with a tiny bit of lemon or lime does wonders for my energy levels. (Lemon and lime juice seem to make it "fizzy" and tastes really good, provided you don't add too much).

I guess any raw vegetables and fruit will help give you the minerals and vitamins you need. I know how you feel though - I can't seem to get enough iron so am anaemic, despite my juicing, and often feel tired and sluggish.

I hope all goes well shanti.

Increased energy

1) A good cold-pressed multi-vitamin
2) get rid of processed carbs (bread, sugar, etc.). Replace them with fruits and veggies for your carbs.
3) Drink tons of water, all the time.
4) Eat more meals (5 or 6 times a day) in smaller portions

And most importantly:
excercise everyday (30 min walk or run, or something comparible), and 8 hours of sleep a night.

I used to Love these Nasel B-12 gels but they Outlawed them. I did Everything wrong and wondered Why do I feel Wiped Out..... I Love Red Bulls and I do Drink Coffee and Tea alot when Sleep is Needed. Cold Coffee is Very good also. I would buy a Blueberry Coffee from 7-11 and keep it until next morning well....Burn Crash Man. I have Had to Change my Diet...Adding Vegtables and Fruit. I will say B-12,Ginseng and Royal Jelly Bee Propolis works. Candy is what I would eat also for a Sugar pickup. I do believe in Juices....
