Tanzanian Peaberry beans are harvested on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro near the Kenyan border and grown under the shade of banana trees. Tanzanian displays many of the characteristics of Kenyan coffee, though much lighter in acidity. The peaberry coffees render a flavor that is concentrated. Expect a lively cup with distinguished aroma. The peaberry - or round bean - is a naturally occurring phenomenon. Nearly all coffee beans are "split beans," that is, the coffee beans grow as two halves joined together like a peanut inside of the coffee berry. However, the peaberry coffee bean is a single, round coffee bean inside of the coffee berry. Therefore, Tanzanian Peaberry coffees are beans of high integrity; they roast with unmatched uniformity, assuring a high quality cup value. Each bag of Tanzanian Peaberry coffee must be sorted and picked special in order to attain a full bag of 100% peaberry beans. It is smooth with medium acidity and solid body. With its wine-like penetrating flavor, this coffee is pleasant and slightly tangy. | |
