another ny perk is the endless celebrity sightings. ran into steven colbert walking to work one day, isaac hayes while smoking a cig at work, kelly ripa while leaving "the color purple", lea delaria sat next to me at "the 25th annual putnam county spelling bee", graham norton at the bar my roommate works at, jeff goldbloom while walking down the street, ect...

anyway, we went to see jackie beat's christmas show saturday night. for those who don't know jackie beat, she is one of the few talented drag queens. very very funny and actually sings. for those that have seen "wigstock:the movie" she's the heavy one that is so damn funny.

so i sit down at the table we have, and turn my chair towards the stage, and to my left at the next table over is a very pretty woman who smiles at me.

i love her, always have. i saw "party girl" in high school and spent years after walking around saying "he-he-HELLO!" from it.

well, i got all shy and just smiled back at her, and didn't say anything, and a few minutes later she taps me on the shoulder and asks me if i have ever seen jackie beat's show before, and i said no, and she starts telling me about all the times she has seen it, and how funny jackie is and how much i will love her.

and the whole time the show was going on, parker kept elbowing me in the side anytime anything really made her laugh, and smiling at me.

she was super sweet.

In 1994, she asked for and got a prince compilation tape I made that was in my friend's car in Austin Texas... but I never met her myself. She promised him a Journey tape in return and never made good on her offer. This was when they were filming "Waiting for Guffman".
