Unexpected Joyful Moments...

You know... they happen unplanned.

For instance, five years ago, summer in Holland. I went to my best friend Mariëlle to go to the beach around the corner of her house. Then her sister calls; if we join her and her husband on a speedboat...

Suuuuure!

What followed was an amazing day of sunshine, laughter, waterski-ing, sunbathing, swimming. Then an amazing evening with a great meal, lots of beer and Mariëlle's skinny dipping father. Just too funny.

For years I have described that day as one of the most beautiful days in my life just becuz it was so relaxed and joyful.

It happened to me two weeks ago too. Aksel and I got invited to a concert by the band's drummer, also an Orger. I really did not feel like going out, but went anyway.
Then, first a GREAT concert with Aksel, lots of laughter and talk like we always do, then meeting the guy who invited us and a student of his.

We ended up in a bar, with lots of laughter again. It was great to meet up these two guys and we orgnote lots now and we are still in awe of how much fun that evening was. Uncomlicated fun.

So. What do YOUR uncomplicated beuatiful moments look like?

Things can be SO simple sometimes. Whenever these moments happen to me, I am just very grateful.

To me, the last moment I described kind of opened up my eyes to the fact I am ready again to venture out again, instead of cocooning at home. I love this feeling; positive and full of energy.

hug

Life is full of these moments if you stop to appreciate them. nod They just aren't as obvious, sometimes.

The simplest things give me the greatest amount of pleasure: friends, music, laughter, conversation, food, nature. Being with people with whom you can say the most intelligent/idiotic thing without them questioning who or what you are.

Most people don't realise how lucky they are. wink

fishslap

Sorry dude, that fishslap was an act of love and appreciation ...

I`m so floored by your words...
My theory is....there`s a certain kind of curiousity that makes a lot of things possible. Some people don`t believe it, maybe they have never made that experience, but if you`re open to new things, then most surely they will happen. Thoughts and dreams do create your surrounding. They really do.
Hamsterman, i love Amsterdam.
Like - i look at the beach can make that happen. I`m talking about the wonderful day you had with Mariel. Cheers, mate. Here`s to....curiousity.
Love...thy will b done

Unexpected Joyful Moment:

I was taking a walk, and cut thru the field next to my apartment complex...and as I walked next to this small tree, a really nice breeze blew against me, and all these small leaves from the tree blew off their branches and rained down on me...the leaves had changed color, so it was raining brown, red, orange and yellow for the moment I walked by this tree. It was really cool...*smile*

And ironically enough, the breeze stopped mere seconds after I passed the tree...almost as if the breeze came along solely to give me that experience. smile

I love the sights and smells of autumn, the way it can ge gentle, but turn violent at any time. I love it's feeble, chilly sunrays, the edges of winter, trying clasp down on it.
I love it when the days are dreay and cold, as it makes me appreciate my house and it's warmth even more. The way the cats cuddle up to me after they have been outside, the scents of autumn still in their pelt.
I love people driving out the greyness of the beginning of winter out with putting up lights. I love cicling through the center of town, where people dive deep into their shawls and scarfs, dodging the wind. Doors to cafe's open and laughter and song spills out on the streets.
I, autumn's spectator.

Autumn has always been my favourite time of year , cold frosty sunny mornings , the changing colours of the leaves on the trees , staying in bed that extra few minutes cause its chilly , snuggling up on the sofa watching a movie

An unexpected moment for me...

Last night the doorbell rings.. A lady is standing there and asks me " is this the place where Marion and Tim live?" "Me: Erm.. yes.." She says: "Ok, I have a christmasgift for you, ( kerstpakket lol) A box full of things" present

I go like eek What did I do to deserve this?

So I thanked the lady and went inside to look what's in the box..

Again eek eek
... There's coffee, apple and orangejuice, a box of chocolates ( no wait two) there's potatochips, marmelade, chocolatebutter, christmascookies and much, much more!

We got it from an organisation who helps me pay for my sons (special) swimminglessons eek

Isn't that an unexpected AND joyful moment?
