I saw this movie, and yeah he is pretty violent with the T-Rex but the scenes with the girl in the movie are pretty gay. He gets a kick out of her dancing and doing back flips. Then he goes skating with her! And all the while it seems as if he just wants her as a friend.
This movie just made me want to see Jessica Lange all over again. At least that King Kong wanted her for real. The only good things about this crappy movie were the computer graphics and Jack Black. Other than that, the acting sucked. The plot was rushed and confusing at times. And some scenes like the gross insect scenes and King Kong killing the T-Rex by pulling apart his jaw were kind of unnecessary.

True....Jessica was hotter. And in that version, Kong was not gay and never would have been caught skating on the ice. I mean he was pretty close to putting on ice skates in this one! Did he have a scarf on or was that my imagination? Jeff Bridges was great in the movie as well. Another odd thing about the movie was the African zombie-ish natives on the island. I mean what the hell? People were laughing at them! Were they supposed to be scary? The more I think about this movie, the more I hate it. But the special effects were cool. But the whole dinosaur scene where they are running under the dinosaurs was slightly unrealistic and went on forever!

I saw it too. Enjoyed it a lot. But your review made me think, and struck me with laughter, and you know,I think you've made some valid points.
but maybe kong was not gay...just lonely. my only question was why the girl never suffered a broken rib from kong's knocking her the "*uck" down so many times. "i'm still laughing...hehawwww,,,hah ha hah..."

They didn't keep it close to only the original! It is a complete mixture of the fighting of the first one and the relationship scenes of the second one.

Thanks for that picture. I should have just rented that one. And yeah, he did swing her around a lot and she never got hurt. And who cares if the director tried to stay true to the original or the 2nd one or whatever. A good movie is a good movie. Do you think it is number one at the box office for that reason? Today's dumb movie audiences don't know any better. Oh and there were also these dumb ass Vietnamese people speaking through the entire movie behind us. That made it a much more enjoyable experience. Not.

It's funny because Jackson claims to hate the 76 version and yet he took the relationship between Kong and Lange and put it in his own.

And another stupid thing from the new one was Brody and Watts standing on the very tip top of the Empire State Building hugging. Like that is really possible.

i really wanted to enjoy this film and overall i would say i did but the more i think about it the more frustrated i become..some of the effects were downright horrid...far worse then anything in the new star wars films. the begining of the fim was too slow. i wanted to punch billy elliott in the face each time he popped in. wondered far too often if he was getting pounded by the hot burly black man cause their "friendship" was way too forced.

ehh....oh well...it was a nice bubble gum film.

About the love thing, I always thought he looked at the girl as a pet. Like if you found a squirrel that could do backflips. You wouldn't wanna fuck it, but you'd be protective of it cause it's cute.

So there you have it.....King Kong was gay. Or was he her pet? If so, he was neutered. I mean at least he could have slipped her the tongue or something. That would have been far more interesting than seeing those insects act like the creature from Alien.
