The New York City Transit Strike is over! The Transport Workers Union (TWU) has agreed to go back to work and continue negotiating a contract with the MTA for the transit workers in NYC. The vote was 36 to go back to work, 5 to keep on striking and 2 who abstained from voting. The head of the TWU told the workers to go to work immediatly. It could take 10 to 18 hours to get the trains roling again but the buses should be up soon. Great news for us New Yorkers and tourists here who need the buses and the subways here!
