Mother of 6, gambles €700 three days before xmas

Not gonna mention names, but i'd like your views on this. You have a mother of 6 children who is living off social welfare and benefits. She got paid today and proceeded to gamble all €700 of it.

Slot machines, does she have a gambling addiction?..perhaps, or is she just a long standing idiot, problems or not.

Now one of my family has decided to bail her out, personally i don't agree with this and think she should suffer the consequences of her actions. My family member thinks it would be unfair to punish the children as they are innocent of their parents actions.

But there again i don't agree, in my opinion if you blow all your xmas money on gambling and think NOTHING of your children while throwing your money into a machine i think that parents should see the distress on their childrens faces.

How else will they learn?, you keep making the same mistake how will you not repeat it?

I'm not surprised by this persons actions, in fact this person is a case in point whereby some people should not be allowed to have children. They just continue the cycle and their children end up screwed up and pass that onto their children.

Thus the cycle repeats again and again with each generation learning less and less.

So if she's going to repeat it anyway, then prison won't be a lesson to her, no? Isn't that the main reason why you think she should stay there?

I agree with you Liberation.
If she doesn't have to face the pain of tell her children see gambled away their Christmas, what would stop her from doing it again? The woman has a problem, and bailing her out not help her get over it.

Sad for everybody. It's actually kind of sad that this woman has an addiction such as gambling, hoping to "Win". sad .. and sad the children are the innocent victims of gaming industry and a desperate out of control mother. sad

Personally I think I would help out with presents for the children. They are the ones who are suffering.

I am for the kids, it's christmas time, shit she can learn her lesson later, and if she truly is addicted there will be another opportunity to let her fall on her face.

She basically gets 700 euro in benefits/welfare because she has 6 kids..i hate to hear of kids being neglected or growing up in these situations ..they will have major problems when they are older. The kids deserve a Christmas though ,but i also agree with what you're saying Lib.

Is this mother of 6 someone in your family? I'm living with a simular situation, but only with alcohol and there's NO WAY IN HELL I'm not going to allow her children to suffer.

Why should her children suffer?

Perhaps she has already learned her lesson.
