Why would a gay man even consider marriage in Thailand? It's like Gaytopia in Bangkok, a virtual butthole buffet--marriage would only dull things down.

Foreigners can buy a condo though, not that I'd want one. The nice ones around Sathorn and Sukhumwit are all far too expensive.

Since we jacked this thread, I'd be looking for a condo if I were to move to Bangkok. I am not a city person when it comes to living arrangements though. I fear cojestion and noise--it reqiure quiet for sleep. The the prospect of living in Thailand is irresistable. One day, I shall host my own Thailand Invasion. Since my Miami idea keeps getting trumped.

Trouble is, it's only really fine if you intend to sell down the line and take your profit to buy elsewhere. Where we live the land and housing was so cheap a couple of years ago but with the skytrain going past here in the next year or two the prices have risen and the place has been built up very quickly. It's called Suan Phak, which means vegetable garden, but all I see now is concrete. I'm like you, I'm not really into city living, the congestion, noise and everything, but unfortunately we're being swallowed by Bangkok.
