Seven days before Christmas I'll tell you what I'm thinking.

I am thinking Christmas will never be the same for me as it was when I was a kid. Or even the same just few years ago when my son was younger. The meaning of Christmas is lost in more than just commercialism, it's lost in it's own traditions and symbols.

You buy presents often for people who need more junk like a hole in their head due to politeness, and obligation more than really wanting to give them something. I realized this year I got tons of snowmen, Santas, etc. on my tree but no cache or manger, cross or anything else symbolizing Jesus.

Churches next Sunday will move and shorten services to accommodate their members other 'more important' Christmas celebration plans. If Christmas is about the birth of Christ why isn't it the biggest church attendance day of the year, instead of what will probably be the worst?

Now so-called Christians seem to be on a crusade to make not celebrating Christmas illegal. You can’t say Happy Holidays?!? Does everyone have to celebrate Christmas? I considering having a Jewish Christmas next year and go out for Chinese food and to the movies. I think it would be more fun.

Maybe I’m a Grinch.

The true meaning of the season has nothing to do with christ or any religious figure.

It's all centered around the "longest night", the cold and fear of death this brings. It's about the seasonal change. It's about the gift of the return of the sun. Around Dec21 the sun reaches it's most far point away from the nothern hemosphier. It is the shortest day. after that the days get longer and this is like a gift of another year.

The Reason for the season is the winter's soulsitis.

Only around less then 1000 years ago did "christ" have anything to do with it. The "christs" real birth happened around the sign of libra, some were between sept and oct. However gain control of a mass of people, the pegans, that celebrated the real meaning of the season the church associated christ's birth with the time frame. The church would give out gifts and have large celebrations to for all newly converted pegans to christianity, and the churches main goal for making the holiday was to compeat with the pegan yule time holiday. So you see, in many ways, christmas has its origines in comerce. Back then it was booty for souls, and now it's booty for love. really sad when you think about it.

I was just telling people my tree went up in honour of the feast of light, as most called pagan Xmas, before the church threw in the Christ as added bonus and before commercialism forced that fat Santa on us.

Play nice boys.
I don't think you're going to find Justin's mojo that way.
Where do you keep your mojo?

I dunno why, but I'm really "feelin" Christmas this year more so than in the past. We put up more lights and decorations than we usually do... The weather is colder than it's been in the past. Plus, I guess I just appreciate this time of year more than I have before for some reason. I dunno why really, but I'm happy about it.

So I'm just really enjoying every single moment this year even though I have only bought a few presents. I wrote a list of some other stuff and am gonna finish up next week in this sort of blitz shopping way. I'm really having fun this season more so than I've had in a long time. AND we are gonna try to have this casual New Year's Eve party (it's an anniversary party, too, coz we were married on New Year's Eve.) We used to have parties every year, but haven't thrown a party in a while now... But we are gonna try this year even though it's short notice.

Anyway, I'm just taking it all in. I'm really have some fun like I used to have.
