Once she get settled, I'd like to start a registry for her...just like friends did here for me. It's really helped me start to get back on my feet. Please let her know that things will be ok. i had thought about a registry of some sort, but they live in france, we'd have to do some more investigating as to where she could register . . . any french orgers with some ideas?

Heiress!!!
I am so sorry to hear this I am thankful that you and your family are OK. Just know whatever our differences here have been, they are miniscule to what really matters. If I can help you with anything I am there for you 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

A few things strike me...
1) I am wildly greatful that Heiress and her family are OK! I can't imagine experiencing that sort of fear. Praise truly be to Jehovah! 2) We orgers and fire apparently don't mix. We should appeal to Prince for a portion of his 3121 profits to fund us all for fire extinguishers and asbestos underwear -- sexy purple ones, of course. 3) I need to get me a brave Frenchman, too. 4) When things settle, we definitely should consider a registry for her. My prayers have already began going up. They'll continue. Best wishes, lady. And thanks for the update, Fantasy. [Edited 12/19/05 12:40pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Even though we are all anonymous screen names on a web site, we all talk every day so we are all kind of like extended family. I'm sorry to hear about Heiress's tragedy but I am very glad that she and her family all made it out safe. I am thinking of her and wish her the best. Andy is a four letter word.

my prayers and sympathies are with you Heiress.
How horrible, and yet life sobering, to think that you, your husband, and that young girl you posted in those pics -your daughter, were in such a near death experience. but the sadness and horror of it all were then eclipsed, or put in perspective, by the gladness in hearing that no one was physically harmed. But all those books! burnt up, like straw and sawdust! seriously, but with the joyous hope found in God's promises, I hope that there is a faith strengthening discernment of The Almighty's will for you in all of this, your losses and difficulties. Rom 8:28 (what Christian could fail to marvel at and cherish this verse?!) HEIRESS UPDATE!!!!
i wrote to heiress and mentioned the gift registry and how concerned all of you are for them. here's her reply: oh honey, tell them they are all very sweet to want to do that for me. we had good insurance, i think applekisses didn't have insurance at all, did she? Another reminder i think we can't stress enough... everybody should have a bit of insurance!!!
materially speaking, we will get by just fine. it's the well-wishes of the org folks, the good vibes and spirit that mean the most for me, more than anything money can buy... please tell them that. we will recuperate what we lost in bits and pieces. we had too much stuff anyway!! meanwhile, trying to just get back to some semblance of normalcy. it's very hard to sleep at night. so frightening to remember all that stuff. this afternoon, i'm going to the hospital; i'm participating in a study about post-traumatic stress disorder. maybe they can give me something to sleep? this morning, i will sign on a small furnished apartment (it's ground floor, just in front of the beach!), where we'll live until the house is rebuilt... they should start the demolition and rebuilding (just the interior & roof, the walls are sound) after the holidays, and the contractor (who is a specialist in this domain, and does nothing else but rebuild after fires) thinks it'll take 4 months or so. we're guessing at least 6, this being the South of France with its attendant goofiness... Bon bref... talk to you again soon. Please pass along the news that everything's all right; in fact you can just cut & paste all i said above, if ya like... i'll be on again soon. just so much to do here. big sloppy kisses to everyone on the org!

about five minutes later she sent me this:
ah, well big hugs and kisses to them all!! the best thing they could all do for me is pray for me. the worst part, as i've said, is not material, but that i can't sleep at night and am just so shook up.
in fact, an odd thing... almost my entire prince collection remained intact - it was in a big armoire downstairs in a part of the room that didn't get burnt. (our house had three floors... the top two are basically gone, the downstairs is pretty well destroyed but we could haul a few things our of the rubble.) there is one practical bit of help or advice that maybe someone could give me... i lost some of my advisor's prince concerts on video... the lovesexy show in dusseldorf, and one in tokyo (from an earlier tour). also the purple rain tour videocassette... i need to replace them somehow - insurance will cover that - just need to know where and how. haven't had time to search on ebay, but need to know please if some of these concerts are on DVD... i think lovesexy is. i feel really bad that my advisor's things were lost, and need to help him get his stuff back. bisous and thanks for all... will write more later... Gosh...
I read that bit about the post-traumatic stress disorder. She and her family will most likely be going through this. I'm just starting to get out of it myself. It's very difficult...she'll experience all sorts of emotions at one time...one fleeting and the other coming up right afterward. She may lash out at people in displaced anger...it's all very normal after an experience like this...but very difficult to deal with. My fire was the result of an arson, so my case was different...but, she should expect a difficult road for a little while. My prayers go out to her and her family.

she said she needs help locating the videos of her advisor's that were lost in the fire. if anyone knows where to locate those (she said her insurance would cover the loss, she just doesn't know where to get them) she'd very much appreciate that help.
