it has worked out very well, except at night or in the dark headlights and tiny ights have a lot of glare. Other then tha. my vision is perfect.

The procedure was nightmarish though.... i had it done over 5 years ago, so maybe now they do more than give you a valium and a teddy bear to squeeze...

i've always wanted to do that. did it work well? how did you feel afterwards?

that's probably what terrifies me most, the fact that you're awake with your EYES OPEN (of course) through the whole thing!!

that, and the cost. which is the ONLY reason i haven't done it yet.

Laser treatment's much better now. My dad had it done. It took about 10 minutes, the actual laster part less than a minute..but he had to wear sunglasses all day for the next two-three days to let his eyes adjust.

I've worn them since I was in 2nd grade. I'm something like -6, although one eye is a bit worse than the other.

These days I just wear glasses, now that I have high-index lenses that don't have that "Coke bottle" look. I have a pair of contacts, but almost never wear them anymore, as I don't find them too comfortable. They're hard lenses... when I started wearing contacts in 1994, there were no soft contacts that could correct my astigmatism. Today such contacts are available, though, so I may give them a try.

my family has such a history of bad eyesight, one of my uncles used to have to wear the strongest prescription available (at that time) in contacts and glasses on top of it!

he's since had surgery and doesn't have to wear anything! eek he was even pictured in an ad for the surgery, all dressed up in his cowboy gear . . . i wonder if my aunt still has a copy of that . . .

Some folks have a fetish for thick eyeglasses, and they'll even go so far as to get contacts that worsen their vision, and then wear a super-thick pair of glasses at the same time that corrects the vision back to normal.

I don't see the appeal, but hey, if it's not hurting anyone.... shrug

Yes, Coke-bottle glasses turn me on so much that I tolerated hard contacts for years, and then spent like $500 to get a pair of glasses with lenses that look normal. rolleyes

If you insist upon using that name for me, you could at least use a title that's better than "Mr.," such as "Esquire" or "J.D." tease
