I think the reason why the tendency exists to have sex right away is because none of us are locked into this "straight" female/male expectations thrust on you by society.

Yall play so many damn games in order to get laid and I do think that is why some straight guys hate us so much because they want to be able to get laid without having to perform the cirque de soleil first

I think heterosexuals are pretty promiscuous, and that includes some women who profess NOT to be, particularly in this day and time. So I do agree with the comment about OTHER more reserved women (and men for that matter) not being into casual sex. I have never really been promiscuous. I've always been more of a relationship kind of girl myself. I don't see it as playing a game or anything. For me, it's more about being comfortable with a person coz I've always been shy to a certain extent. Plus, the emotion really plays a huge part for me. I just "enjoy" being in a relationship at all levels. THAT SAID, I don't see anything "wrong" with randomly "hooking-up" as long as a person protects him/herself.

At one point, I just think that we all need to allow for differences whether it be orientation or a certain lifestyle. It's just SEX after all.So as with anything, a person just has to be true to him/herself. Some people are one way; others aren't . NO ONE is the THE STANDARD OR NORM. I think that people just need to be comfortable with themselves as well as others. That's the BEST that we can do.

I guess what I was trying to say is this "notion" or stereotype that gays were allegedly more promiscuous... a la Terry McMillan's statement and/or one of the earlier responses of gay men having more sex, so that's sort of an implied promiscuity. Believe me, I have a few gay friends who much prefer being in relationships; in fact, a couple who have NEVER been all that promiscuous.


Suffice to say that I don't believe that there is a difference really in regard to promiscuity and orientation... I just think that people IN GENERAL are different in regard to casual sex: some being comfortable with it, some not. Also, I don't think that EVERY SINGLE PERSON wants a relationship. Some people PREFER being single. That doesn't mean that there is anything WRONG with that. But society seems to dictate that there is something wrong is a person DOESN'T want to be in a relationship. I'm not so sure that relationships are for everyone.

P.S. I also think that as MOST people get a bit older, they want a partner. Now, I don't know if that is necessarily an indication of actual maturity OR once again maybe a "need" to conform to what society feels is appropriate.
