Okay, here are my guesses for what the teams will finish as in each group:

Group A
Germany - 1
Costa Rica - 4
Poland - 2
Ecuador - 3

Not even Poland will be able to touch Germany with the massive support they will have on their home turf. Also, Germany are known for doing their best efforts in big championships.

Group B
England - 1
Paraguay - 3
Trinidad and Tobago - 4
Sweden - 2

Trinidad and Tobago won't win a single match, but it will be damn close between the other three. Paraguay might be a surprise here.

Group C
Argentina - 1
Côte d'Ivoire - 4
Serbia and Montenegro - 3
Netherlands - 2

Argentina will be incredibly thirsty for revenge after the last World Cup, way more so than the Dutch. The serbs aren't as weak as some seem to think, but they won't be able to touch the top two.

Group D
Mexico - 1
Iran - 3
Angola - 4
Portugal - 2

The African teams look unusually weak this year, so I think Iran can edge past Angola. Mexico could be the big surprise this tournament. They have a very strong team.

Group E
Italy - 1
Ghana - 4
United States - 3
Czech Republic - 2

This is what I would call the group of death. Very, very tough. This time Italy will deliver, but the Czechs look strong too. The Americans are really on the go and could definitely do very well, but might have to mature as a footballing nation a little bit longer before getting the big wins.

Group F
Brazil - 1
Croatia - 2
Australia - 4
Japan - 3

Australia will be the punching bag in this group where Brazil will defeat all opposition. Only Croatia will be able to give them a decent fight.

Group G
France - 2
Switzerland - 3
Korea Republic - 1
Togo - 4

France hasn't impressed me since they won in '98, so I'm guessing the speedy Koreans will top this one. Switzerland is so-so and Togo won't stand a chance.

Group H
Spain - 1
Ukraine - 3
Tunisia - 4
Saudi Arabia - 2[/quote]

Dare I guess that this will finally be the year for the Spaniards after having hd strong teams and fallen short year after year after year? I think they will at least top this group. The Saudis play with great energy and optimism and will be one of this year's surprises.

Germans have a ridiculously easy group. Its a conspiracy. Of course, upsets can and will happen no doubt, but germany are looking quite strong. 0-0 against france wasn't too shaby either.

he was infamous for diving bless him lol He was one of the first "actors" that are so very commonplace today. Iam sure part of a days training is a lesson in "how to fake a dive",not just for germany, but for every club in the world. He inspired millions. I find it funny. lol

Right, like last year during the Europeans? doh! The German team sucks ass right now. They were lucky they didn't have to qualify, they would never have made it! They couldn't even win from China recently!

Don't leave out Ivory-Coast, they have a strong team right now! nod Still, Netherlands will impress, since they are the ones to perform well during big tournaments!

Nah, I'm actually not even interested in football most of the year. At least not in the national leagues. But I do keep an eye on what goes on internationally since I think it's so cool with the big tournaments. It's not just teams clashing, but entire footballing cultures with millions of people backing each one. Only the Olympics comes close to being that thrilling if we're talking international events.
