QUESTion about Psychology... It's funny to me, but while in college I found that people picked their majors based upon their personal intrests. I got to know a good amount of psychology majors, and I found that they all had a common thread. Each and everyone of them were "suffering" from some sort of "mental condition" and this is what leads them to want to study Psychology.
Now, the question I ponder is that if the "crazy" people study a sudo science, kinda like the nuts running the nuthouse, doesn't this compromize psychology as a means into understanding the human mind? I seen several types of people all self absorbed in their own "problems" and they were all looking to "broadcast" these psychological issues onto others. What do you think about the science of the mind which through examination can't be truly understood by others because of the diffrences we all share and that shape our personal biases? Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

Dunno, but this would probably be a good question to ask Dr. Phil.
As it turns out, Dr. Phil has said on his show once or twice that his dad was an alcoholic. So what you're saying about people who study psychology are suffering from a mental condition could very well be true. Living with a person who drinks would not be easy. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Which mental conditions were "each and every one of them" suffering from? And suddenly we jump from having a mental condition to then assuming having that condition means they're crazy? People with mental conditions aren't all "crazy people" who will compromise the integrity of any field of study. Besides which, if you did a proper and valid study of all psychologists, I guarantee that you would find that the vast majority of them would be of sound mind, so try not concern yourself with theories that the whole field is a sham. --ยปYou're my favourite moment, you're my Saturday...

Pffft, I have always been interested in how the mind works and the motivation behind what people do. I have had my share of down times, but nothing serious. My major in college was Psychology, and although I never finished, I had a perfect GPA. I went into it wanting to be a Psychiatrist (different from Psychologist or Therapist) because I wanted to help people with serious illness, oh and the money is great I hear.
