Rock on Howard (fuck the FCC) but I prefer XM radio if I'm going to have to pay for radio (which I don't) but I'll still tune in once in a while to the E show (if it's still going to be running).

The E show has been over. Are they still playing repeats? He has two channels of programming on On Demand.

I think Howard's contract with the E Show runs out at the end of this year. They are showing a best of Howard during the last few days as determined by online voting. After that you will only be able to watch his show on the Howard On Demand channel. I already subscribe to it. There are easily over one hundred episodes already there for viewing with more being added weekly.

I love Howard Stern. I don't have Sirius so I won't be catchin the new show anytime soon. His last show was on my birthday. I actually teared up a bit listening to it. There is so much to miss about that show. Howard brought some weird, gross, freaky, sick, overlooked and misunderstood people to the world. How will I get by without Jeff the Drunk or Beetlejuice? Beetlejuice!!!!!
Stained's performance of the Beetlejuice song was so damn touching and it rocked. Does anybody remeber when that lady was cuffed to Jeff the Drunk for about a week? They bonded through all of Jeff's blackouts, chain smokin and disgusting smell and toilet habits. What about the sweet voices of Gary the Retard or High Pitch Eric?? The airwaves will never be the same.

RIP Hank the Angry Dwarf.

I'm not a Stain fan but do that Beetlejuice song very well. BTW, I didn't get even teary eyed during the whole thing probably because I knew I would keep listening. I think you'll miss them when they're gone.

Can't wait to hear the show the way it was meant to be....free from the meddling of the religious right and the FCC.

hmm...Not sure of a model number but...I have an orbiter or is it just orbit ??
I have a base unit for the house and a mountable base for my car....so I can pop the actual receiver out and bring it where ever. All I have to do is tune my radio to 88.1 (there's a few channels to choose from) and my receiver picks up the signal and plays it through either my home or car speakers. ever gone to a drive in movie? (recently) it's like that. (boxed hey! there's a drive-in near me)
What do I like about it??!?!? EVERYTHING! I love the comedy channels (raw dog) I love the music channels, some of my favs are the big 80's, the spectrum, coffee house, bluegrass, blues, jam_on AND there's no commercials and minimal dj's. Oh yeah...and I've been listening to BBC Radio 1..that's pretty cool.
I haven't given Martha's channel much of a listen yet but I want to. smile (I love me some martha!)
there's even a outQ gay channel which is pretty funny. There's Maxim radio for the hetero men, there's some women channels, religious channels, political and news channels....weather, traffic....geesh! I think it has just about everything!
The one thing I don't like about it is the signal....I live in the north east and we don't have alot of sky when we look up. I drive on a lot of small back roads and can hit some spots where I loose my signal for a while...but if I'm on any kind of main road it's fine
I'm not sure what you mean about too many changes and what they currently play? please explain.

I don't know why I asked for a model number...do you one of those new Sportster or Starmate things? Or just a regular thing that stores channels and will save your favorites (that's what I have...probably the cheapest model and the cheap boombox).

Glad you like it becuase I'm slightly dissapointed. Kicks regular radio's ass but I was expecting more. Why is there one left station and two right ones (probably becuase they cancelled Air America and don't feel the need to replace it). I find all the talk radio kind of boring in comparison to the local talk radio...this is not good, Howard...make it change! The music is good but some of the stations repeat too often and while there are like 60 some stations, I still think there could be more variety (they apparently axe a lot of good stuff all the time...hopefully they will be adding good stations as time goes on).

As for the changes, the radio I bought was probably an older model and on the side of the box, the listing of stations is totally different from the one they offer...they got rid of a lot of stations and added some that are questionable.

I guess you didn't ask for a model number...I put that part in...lol sorry biggrin
you know....I don't even know what I have...it's not a sportster..I don't think...I have presets that I can set like my regular radio..is that what you mean? I prolly have the cheapest too...since my dad got if for me as a gift.

I guess the "kicks regular radio's ass" is good enough for me...but I hear what your saying...it could use some improvement but I do think that's what they are doing all the time. I think it's almost quarterly they update thier channels. I know the last one they did, combinded a few channels and removed a few others.. I think they base what stays or goes on ratings...or something like that. not sure though. yeah...the local talk scene is lacking..guess you got to listen to your local stuff on "old fashion" radio still lol biggrin
if you have a subscription you should get updated channel listings in the mail either reg mail or e-mail. I know you can go to sirius.com and print one out too. I hope it grows on ya!

See, for all you Howard Stern haters, here's a lesson for you all. In case you haven't noticed this thread has continued with much argument. That's the power Stern has over you. Come into the Stern Side. You know you are no better, when you are with your friends you talk about some nasty shit, so don't come up in here acting all "Saintly" and shit. No such thing as a pure person, just doesn't exist. We all have nasty thoughts, and we all say offensive things. The only difference between you and Howard, is that he had the goddamned balls to stand up for what he believed in. Freedom of mutha fukin speech. Aight, I'm outy, yall have fun with this one, I'm sure it'll drag on for quite a while longer. I hope I did piss you haters off, and if I did, then I did my job. Peace.

Yeah, there's a lot more than just nekkid chicks. (I personally think there isn't enough nudity. razz ) The Gary tape is on there, Artie really drunk, a lot of guest interviews like Courtney Love, etc. Definitely less than 50% of the episodes there are about women getting naked.

I just think Howard's time is done. He used to be hilarious but I just don't think it's funny to pick on the less fortunate should I call them? The people he has on his show are messed up and he plays on that. I don't dig it.

It sounds like you think Howard is just plain mean, not gross. But I've heard him make fun of himself also. He's always calling himself a homo because he knows nothing about sports and loves teen movies and crappy reality TV. He also likes referring to himself as a praying mantis, because he's so tall and ugly.

It sounds like you think Howard is just plain mean, not gross. But I've heard him make fun of himself also. He's always calling himself a homo because he knows nothing about sports and loves teen movies and crappy reality TV. He also likes referring to himself as a praying mantis, because he's so tall and ugly.

It just got old to me. He's got girls with missing teeth who have been raped and/or molested by their father/uncle/brother and he mocks them. I don't find that funny. Some of his stuff is ok but I'm just tired of it. Just my opinion.

I don't have it so I'm exactly sure but I think there's more than just naked women up there right now...I know the "Gary" tape is up there...you know the one that starts off with "hello hello" falloff it's that sappy I miss you love tape that he made his ex girlfriend. I think Howard even has some home movie stuff up there.

I might have to check it out then hmmm smile
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

We probably have the same basic unit...it's gray, has a orange and black screen? I also hope it grows on me. Glad you are such a fan and digging it. I dig it but I guess I was expecting gold to come out of the radio for what I'm paying.

yep! sounds like we have the same one. I've had mine a year now also...and I must say at first I was expecting a lil more...but howard is coming so what more could you ask for? lol just kidding. One cool thing is you can write to them with suggestions and you get responses....they seem very eager for customer feed back. biggrin
"not a fan" falloff yeah...ok
