nod I cry every time I see the original. Every time. My brothers have teased me about it since I was 5-years-old.

lol The ridiculous part about it is that my little brother teases me about it. He was all of 2-years-old when the shit happened. Like he remembers me bawling!

There is nothing fake about me.

I think women get choked up at the story because the Ape falls in love with the woman, does anything he can to protect her and then in the end he sacrifices his life for her. Women like stories like that. barf

Same reason women loved "Titanic". I don't think guys will be going for the same reasons as women. Guys will be going for the special effects and King Kong fighting Dinosaurs and crushing things.

Well to me this movie is the copycat of the Merian C cooper effort directed in 1933. There is nothing new as usual in Jackson's big productions. even the visuals are not that great, especially Kong, IMO.

Saw it this afternoon.

I was expecting to love it. I was excited right up until the film began.

It sucks. I give it 6 of 10.

I saw it this afternoon also. Waaaay too much. It's what happens when special effects take over a movie. KONG looked great and was the best part of this looong, butt numbing experience. At one time, running with dinos and it was so bad, they should have been riding them. And the insects, don't get me started. Poor Jack Black will never have another dramatic role. The swirling of the camera made me dizzy at times. dead

Oh, that's right. That's beyond your comprehension. thumbs up!

I haven't decided if I'm going or not. I'm usually pretty particular on what movies I give my money to, and I'm not sure if it's worth it yet.

I think I will give it a miss until it comes on free to air. Unless there are aliens or spaceships in it.

Ugh, you should see the original. And yes - Dark Star is the mutant beach ball one. smile

I actually really liked Hardware. It was stylish and atmospheric and almost had arthouse-like qualities to it. Everybody else hated it though, including the critics. You know how they sometimes put positive reviews on the official movie poster? Well, for Hardware they could only dig up a luke-warm comment from some hick magazine in northern Sweden. It had probably served the marketing more if they'd just skipped the reviews altogether. lol
