A friend is selling me her old PC for $50. I just need to pick up a monitor and a few other accessories and I'll be back in business early next week. No more Mac.

I actually want to get a mac laptop.

i need a new PC...i think it's time my current one got the ol' yeller treatment.

what kind of freind sells you an old computer? I change my computer out ever other year or so and just give the "old computer" away.

Can't you even give us the details like processor speeds, brand, sizes etc?

I'm SO not a geek when it comes to these things. I only know it's a Compaq. She's selling it to me as that's what she paid for it. Her work got all new computers and they allowed the employees to buy the old ones for $50. She picked up 2 so is letting me have the other. I know it will come with windows XP, that the one she has has been working fabulously, and that's about all I know.

I'm taking my one computer geek friend shopping with me this weekend to get all the accessories. If I have anything juicy to tell once that's done I will.

i got a "new" computer about a month ago!

i'd bought a brand new one last year with my tax refund, then a month after the one year warranty was up the damn hard drive burned up! i lost most everything i had on it!! (always back up your hard drive, ALWAYS!!)

my dad put a brand new harddrive and OS in my PC and i finally got it back after 8 months being offline. so i feel ya Carrie! and it sucks, doesn't it?!
