Your Life on the Org?

Why do you post you intimate details of your existence here to be publicly scrutinized or observed? Are you safe in what people here summize in their heads? Or are you just in need of friends that are pretty much safe because we all really don't know you on a personal level?

How do you come to the point where you are comfortable with your world exposed to the Org?

I guess when some people become complacent about thier surrounding (e.g.) the org, i guess they feel safe in exposing the intimate details of thier life.

you know Dex I was thinking about this the other day nod ...I'm someone who posts an awful amount of personal stuff here. you guys are told and know way more about me than even my father knows if you can believe that! nod If this makes sense it's because YES I guess I do feel safe letting it out here because I know (I hope) there are people that genuinely do care about me (and not just say it, ya know) there are times when you wonder most definately though having said that

I wear my heart on my sleeve whether for good or bad shrug

I'm taking notes on all of you sick bastards and plan on putting all of this in a salacious, no hold's barred bestseller.

You sick puppies are my ticket to early retirement so keep those intimate details coming.

I have occasionally overstepped my own boundaries in posting personal things here. Most of the time I'm alright, but I've said a few things I later regretted. ah well.
Live and learn, I guess.

I am not afraid to be known. I am who I am and one can take it or leave it. I am the same here.. there or anywhere. I think it is healthy for people to step beyond themselves and risk being known.... If that process begins here then great. Helps us to see we are all greatly wanting the same thing, to be accepted for who we are (and that we always won't be) AND THAT'S OK!
It also creates tolerance for difference in my opinion. I'd also dare to say that people around here are vastly more aware of people around the world and culture differences are better understood then by the average person in their local cities.
How does one become comfortable? I'd suppose a little bit at a time and then by facing a little bit of scrutiny and surviving it. You realize that its not gonna kill you after all.
As for the friendships they aren't isolated to online contact. Some of the greatest friendships I have known were forged on this site.... Including yourself and Chris.
Final thought: I don't say anything in any environment that isn't able to be said in all. You could print all this and publish it. Heck most the people in my world have seen it anyway.

I think I'm even more open in real life. It's easier to start by trusting people and only turn your back when they disappoint you. If you start by giving no trust at all, where is the point at deciding you can start to trust someone?

Just my way of life, I guess.

I tend to post more personal stuff when I think it can be relevant in a discussion. This means I'm not too eager on describing what my vagina looks like, what my most perverted thoughts are or how bad my boyfriend's shit smells.

But telling more general stuff about my love-life or cooking-habits? I don't see anything wrong with that. If people don't care, they can choose not to read it.
