I know but I desperately want to lose weight.



Are you excercising? There is no way you can lose weight and keep it off without excercising. If you are naturally small thats a different story. Can I ask how much you weight and how much you are trying to lose?

Do the south beach diet. You don't have to starve yourself. I lost 14 pounds in the first 2 weeks and ate 6 times a day

It's great. It basically cuts out sugar and bad carbs and bad fats. You can have good carbs (like whole wheat pasta, whole grains, vegetables) and good fats (like nuts, peanut butter) and sugar substitutes. No caffeine though. I suggest you buy the book, but you can also check it out at www.southbeachdiet.com

ALso, your fat cells store chemicals and other toxins you've been accumulating all your life.

I wouldn't recommend fasting 10 days, (although most people can do a water fast for 30 or 40 days with supervision--face it folks, most of you have THAT much fat to burn). But I do strongly believe in fasting.

EDIT:
HOWEVER, you're matabolism will slow down. So when you come of the fast, you MUST get into a gym and do strength training. Strength training picks speeds your metabolism permenantly up, becuase 1 extra pound of muscle requires 30 to 100 additional calories a day to sustain itself.

As many have said starving yourself is never a long term solution, and may prevent you having a life long term!

It will ultimately not keep the weight off unless you plan on never eating again. I know what it is like though, we all feel like we know our bodies best, and I don't generally like to listen to people's advice about how to look after my body when I feel I know my body better than they do.

There isn't one diet to suit everyone, we do have to tailor things to suit our lifestyle, but starving yourself is extreme.

Most of us know how to lose weight, eat less, exercise more... if you burn more than you take in you will lose weight. dah. It's implementing it that trips most of us up.

So, while I don't want to be preachy, truly, try exercising more, I have no doubt it will make you feel and look 100% better than starving yourself would.
