Going to a Chiropractor for the 1st time tomorrow...

For a couple of reasons...

#1 I need it! My upper back- between the shoulder blades and my neck have been killing me for about 5 months or so. Stiff, compressed, crunchy feeling, and painful.

#2 I've got a coupon for the xrays, exam and first adjustment FREE.

#3 This Doctor is one FINE ASS DADDY! drooling

Anyone else use a chiropractor? What should I expect? Will I need to remove my clothes? batting eyes

My appointment is at 9am. Answers! Answers!

i've been seeing a chiro regularly since i was about 15 years old. i got whiplash and had a headache for nine months straight. eek

i went to a quack of a doctor for a while, actually left feeling worse! but then i went to a chiro with magic hands!! and the moment, the moment he put my neck in place my 9-month headache was gone!!

i now get migraines if my neck goes out, and going to the chiro helps tremendously!

no taking clothes off (except maybe your belt for the x-ray). and try hard not to drool on the table!! lol

Ya know what, now that you mention it, I was in a car accident about 3 years ago. I was hit behind. I left the accident fine but about 4 hours later I was sore between my shoulder blades and my neck! eek

I had a KILLER of a back/neck strain earlier this year that lasted for several weeks. I could barely move and almost had to ask for help to tie my shoelaces. You'd think it was a textbook example of what a chiro could do wonders with, but after I'd gone six or seven times I finally realized that it was almost making it worse. He'd crack my back in a way that really hurt and each time I'd leave incredibly sore. Once the soreness went away, I was back at the same level of pain and stiffness as I'd been before I went the first time. neutral

usually about once a month. sometimes not for two months, sometimes 3 times in one month. just depends. but without my chiro i would be in agony!! it's gotten to where i can feel exactly which vertebrae are out, and he knows me so well that it takes about 5 to 10 minutes and he's got me back in place! (been going to the same one for about 4 years, since my last regular chiro moved away)

Back from seeing Dr. Sexy... what a damn girl! hrmph

Anyway they took a bunch of xrays and I go back tomorrow for the results and my first adjustment.

They also put these cold ass ice cube things on my back and sent electricity through them. I wanted it to stop. It wasn't because it hurt, it was just cold and I don't like cold.

The stim is 2 release the tightening in your muscles that is causing U pain. The cold is not so bad once U get used 2 it. Adjustments r the bomb. I've been seeing my chiro (who is, incidentally, smokin' hot himself) 4 about 3 years. Hope your back feels better.

I have been going to a chiropractor for back and neck cracking for about three months. For over a year I have been dealing with pain in my left shoulder, which I thought was the result of carrying too much weight on the shoulder with bags, or from a gym injury. First I consulted the physician who sent me to the physical therapist. All I was given was a roller to lay on and do some stretching exercises. It worked at times, but not consistently. The chiropractor entered the picture when I attended an all day festival, and all I wanted was to win some drawing. From there I was given a free consultation on the spot and come to find out my spine is really messed up. I know my posture isn't all that great, and my job requires sitting in front a computer nine hours a day. So I started off going three days a week, then it reduced to two, and now I'm only going once a week. My spine and neck has improved tremendously, and I'm doing exercies that have worked wonders on my shoulder. I've been told that relying on the chiro can be addicting, while at the same time necessary. Now why couldn't my physician make that discovery with my back...looking for the source. If only this started a year ago. I get back and neck cracked. The cracking sounds are trippy at times, but it never hurts to the point of needing to ice down more than once or twice during the treatment. It's worth it, IMO.

ah yes, well adjustments often make things hurt more - for a bit. takes a while to work out difficult problems. doesn't happen from one day to the next...

but it's better than surgery, or a back brace. had severe scoliosis as a child, and got it pretty well fixed with chiropractic treatments. i still visit my old chiropractor, when i'm back in the states.

Ask him to adjust you. The first time someone did that to me, I swear I had an orgasm. I also couldn't stop laughing for some reason.

The cold is a new one for me...my chiropractor uses a hot moist towel and those electrode things. I LOVE IT!! The heat relaxes the muscles before the adjustment (alway done the same day)

I fell and knocked 2 vertabrae out of place in my back about 11 years ago and saw a chiro for the 1st time. I am a believer!! Now I go to relieve migraines.

It is vaguely sexual when my chiropractor adjusts me. This really good looking guy is in very close physical proximity, putting his hands on me and man-handling me 4 the purpose of making me feel good. It's very funny when U think about it.

I have been having some side and back pain. I get the results of a few XRays I took next Monday. The doctors are focusing in on muscle and our joint pain since all the other tests are negative.

I might have to see a chiropractor after the results next week.

I saw one for a while (had intense neck/shoulder pain & stiffness in the lower back). The first guy was a quack, way too gentle (used one of those gun thingies, they don't help at all)...

Second place was cool (good adjustments, 10 minute massage afterward thumbs up! ) but they're so damn $ hungry mad As I started feeling better I stopped going as much & every damn time the dude would lecture me about coming more often to keep me healthy. But I was also getting shots from a physical therapist which helped me the most, so of course I'm gonna go to the chiro less confused

I haven't been in months, haven't had shots lately, I feel good as new biggrin I actually think it was largely due to stress, which has been lifted recently too.

Good luck, don't let 'em bully you! punch
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart
