exams coming up... I'm preparing an oral exam (no obvious jokes please). Not one I need to study, but one I need to make for my students. Friday will be my first day of examining them. In four days I'll see 50 students and interrogate them on the subject of medieval Dutch literature, euphemisms, toponymy, antroponymy and so on. It's the first time I do this and right now it seems like one of the most difficult jobs ever, and I know I will be nervous on the first day. To sit there, staying awake, evaluating them in a fair way, not going weak when they get all teary. I wish it was already Christmas. Wish me luck !

From what you've told before about your pupils they seem to appreciate you. I think that's a very starting point. And think about your former teachers or professors that were good at oral exams and use their tips and tricks.

Any other ideas? Maybe I should give them a fat joint. I mean Karel ende Elegast Our fox is ok though, I'm glad he's among the literary figures.

Pretty kinky stuff, though, considering it was written in the 12th-13rd century! All these avant-garde SM-scenes . A cat biting the priest's balls off... a fox pissing on someone else's children. He surely brought some entertainment in the classroom! I had to dig this thread back up, as I'm still working on the preparation. It won't be too easy... Thanks to the posters of this thread for encouraging me !
