Stevie's latest album. It was a Christmas present that arrived a few days ago and I opened it. I also got Fiona Apple's 'Extraordinary Machine', which I'm disappointed with. I don't like the changes from the Jon Brion version.

"Positivity"

And Rahsaan Patterson's 'After Hours' has been in and out of my CD player for a few months now and never strays too far. My Auntie Tosh says he's a lovely guy too, which is refreshing to hear. Shame he's gay and I'm straight though. All the nice men are taken or gay.

I've loved Stevie since I was about 7. I remember finding a copied tape of something up in the loft, not knowing what it was, and listening to it over and over, entranced by the variety of sounds. It was Stevie's 'Songs in the Key of Life'.

Last time I was at the Jazz Cafe it was to see The Roots. They canceled though. Courtney Pine played instead, which was good, but I was so looking forward to The Roots.
