Reincarnate

I love Christmas decorations and displays. The big trumpets look cool.

Im sure they will do them next year except it will be Macys instead of Fields. I know how u Chicagoans feel because years ago, Detroit's flagship department store (JL Hudsons) was taken over by Fields.
Hudsons was the tallest department store in the world. It was 25 stories and had 92 elevators, five basements, 51 display windows, 706 fitting rooms, 2 million square feet, and 5,000 windows.

They just dont build them like they used to.

From what I heard they are not changing the store on state street becuase it is a historical landmark. I could be wrong though, I have not lived in Chicago since August, this is just what I heard. However, where I live now there is Macy's up the wazoo. Buta I am a nordstrom's kinda girl... nod

We went down to the annual holiday display @ the Marshall Fields in Mpls. It was Cindrella this year. They have done these every year since 1963 smile They utilize 80% of the 8th floor and it is a huge walk through deal. We have gone every year since 1997 when we went the day after our first Prince concert biggrin
