Guitar Greatness! Do you love guitars? Tell us your story. What guitars make you feel like a rock star? GUITARS ROCK!

I am very excited. I just ordered ,( http://www.musiciansfriend.com/ ), the guitar I have been wanting since I played one over 14 years ago. It's going to be my christmas present!

The reason I love this guitar so much is it rocks so hard. You don't have to battle with a plank of wood. It's the most inovative guitar of its' time. What's the guitar?

Steinberger Synapse SS-2F (transparent green)

http://www.steinberger.com/ check out some of the videos.

What about...

...a Parker Fly? Still wood but unique.

I'm more of a "plank of wood" traditionalist.

2 of my main tools.

Fender...

...Jimi Hendrix Tribute Strat

Jay Turser...

...JT-136

Yes, my curent electric is a Fender 72 remake mexican.

If you like a guitar, like the flyer, please feel free to post what it is you like about it and why.

My point about the Steinberger being the most inovative, this being fact not opion, doesn't sudgest the inovations are better or worst.

I am not looking for no pissing contests. I just want some friendly guitar posters wink

I love the strings on a Steinberger, but I like the feel of something more in my hands.

Sunburst American Strat--just got it. I loved my Japanese strat w/a humbucker in the bridge, but they don't compare in craftmanship to American made. It's hard to put this down.

Epiphone G400--A Gibson SG clone. Looks & sounds great, but the balance is fucked up and the neck falls down when it's strapped on. This may get traded in soon. I'm thinking of a Gibson 137.

Fender Acoustic/Electric DC20?--Nothing special, a workhorse.

Crappy Aria Bass--gets the job done, but I'm not enamored with it.

The strings, ah yes the strings, now that is a question for me. I don't know what I will be doing with the strings. I am in love with the Elixier Strings but the steinberger sudgest use of their strings.

I guess I will just have to play it by ear.

I piss in the toilet, not on message boards. wink

The only reason I brought up The Fly is because, like the Steinberger, it's also consider an innovative guitar design.

One personal note about the Steinberger.
I loved the sound Leslie West had during the Mountain days with his Les Paul Junior.
Down the road I heard him playing a Steinberger and he sounded like hell.

But that's the funny thing about guitars.
You can give 10 players the exact same equipment and they'll all sound a bit different.
It's all about touch.

Enjoy your new acquisition. thumbs up!

I am a strat man, all the way smile The Music Man Axis I had was great for lead, but poor for clean funk guitar. Those Dimarzio pickups screamed though...

I used to be into guitars. I still own a '59 Les Paul Jr., a '78 Tele, another Tele and a Takamine acoustic/electric, as well as a Mexican acoustic from a pawn shop.

A few years ago, I realized they're just pieces of wood and I've been meaning to get around to selling them, but haven't been bothered yet. I will hang on to one for myself to play and possibly keep the Les Paul for my niece, because it was originally scaled for younger players (on the other hand, this is a very valuable guitar that is appreciating in value and I might be worried about her damaging it - might have to save it until she's older).

Gotta American Tele which is the go to tones, love my piece-of-shit acoustic no brand, my Martin backpack I took on holiday and was glad to have it and the Taylor is the go to acoustic for the camp fire or just hearing that full sound.

Bass and pianos next?
