Well it definitely has an impact of epic social and economic proportions! Where it was once laughed at and riduculed, it perservered and let voices be heard! Before it became the mega-billion dollar industry (before bastardized talent that is) original rap told personal stories of a culture basically ignored by mainstream money makers, movers and shakers, and conglomerates of the industry.

It became highly attractive and lucrative for both listener and investor, but it then grew a consciousness and became political, borderline esoteric even. Then the billion dollar industry was responsible for allowing this culture to expose all the wrong doings of the oppressors in this country. And they had to make a switch!!

They RE-bastardized the talent, and told them to make it MATERIALISTIC and SELF-DEPRECATING while throwing more money and images all over the airwaves and tv screens!

Yes, it has fucking power!! Yes, it can create agressiveness! Yes, it can cause Violence! I don't know what the problem is with Rough Sex, but ahem.....

But it can ONLY cause these things when the people targeted are not exposed to what else there is to life and the experiences out there to endure. I had a Mom who made SURE to expose me to other facets of life. Whites, Blacks, Rich, Poor, The outdoors, my MIND!

When they say "Knowledge is Power"....that shit ain't a fucking joke! Knowledge of anything broadens ones scope, horizon if you will. This person will know of so many roads to take and become aware of their options as they presented to them.

It does have an impact yes, but so does EVERYTHING ELSE.....in the world!
