Have you ever eaten/drank something you didn't expect? Have you ever took a bite out of Marmite on bread expecting it to be chocolate spread? My friend once put salt on his Weetabix once, mistaking it for sugar. Were you left with a pleasant or unpleasant surprise? [Edited 12/6/05 6:11am]

My dad once threw a mince pie across the room because - having being asked if he'd like one - bit into it and thought it was a minced beef pie.
Tw*t. | |

A glass of milk with a green olive at the bottom of it.
My cousin was quite the prankster at our Christmas gatherings.

It doesn't matter if it's something that's actually tastier than what you thought you were eating; just the fact that you've been fooled makes your tastebuds freak out.

When I was 6 my dad decided to make fried chicken
Instead of coating it with flour,he coated it with sugar He realized his mistake when it was on my plate and I was about to eat He watched me eat it to see my reaction I was 6! It was sugar...It was great "Nobody makes me bleed my own blood...NOBODY!"

Ex-Moderator | I don't speak Italien. When I was in Italy I went into a pizza place to grab a quick slice and they had several options so I just pointed at one. It seemed fine for the first few bites, but then I bit into what I thought was perhaps sausage and it was the most disgusting taste/color/testure you can imagine. It was some sort of meat, surely, but it was soft and I can't even tell you how disgusted I was imagining what it could possibly have been. I spit out what was in my mouth and threw the rest away and wasn't able to eat for hours. |

He woke up to get a drink from his soda that he had near the bed. All I heard was all this slapping noise. He turned on the light and there were tons of ants all over him. He tried to slap them off of him. He actually tasted some and said that they were spicy. M MyeternalgrattitudetoPhil&Val.Herman said "We want sweaty truckers at the truck stop! This reminds me of a great family story.
When my dearest grandmother was still younger, she started a summer camp for immigrant children who just arrived in Belgium, to give them a chance to go on a very cheap holiday. I went with her, I was about four at the time. One night, she was making spaghetti with cheese-sauce, but instead of putting in some maïzena (corn-flour), she accidentally put a bag of mortar in it. All these children, watching their spaghetti stiffen up. It actually took a few minutes before any one dared to say something about it. She has brought forward some great stories.

Tell AsianBomb about it, he experiences that every day. I wonder if kids these days would hesitate to complain about their food though. They seem insanely tough and hardened and would proabably yell "hey, you fucked up our food you old bag!". .

She was the kind of person no one ever said things like that to. Or maybe once.

when i was living in morocco that family i was staying with regularly made this delicious meatball dish that i loved. After eating it about five or six times, i finally learned enough arabic to realize that what i was eating were goat testicles. even though i tried my hardest to be mature, i really couldn't eat them after that.

I hope it stays that way until it's time for us to bring out our canes.

Another one... a few years ago I went to a Spanish restaurant and ordered a paella. When the plate arrived I immediately noticed the mussles were rotten. So I called the waitress and guess what??? She says 'Doen't you riid books, girrrrl, are you stoepid, don't you knoew it's not the time for moessles? Everyone knoews thoese are only decoeration!!'
Then she told my boyfriend at the time 'just leave her, now, you'll only get proeblems with women like this one!' I was but my father, sister, mother and boyfriend were rolling under the table, laughing.

This was SOOOO rotten of me but...
About 20+ years ago we were @ my great-auntie's house for a holiday dinner around Christmastime. My mom DESPISES green peppers and I know this. So what do I do...take a small piece of green pepper and stuff it in a black olive then proceed to feed it to my mom. I can STILL recall the look on her face And she still holds it against me
