That was the item to get for last year's "Black Friday". Everyone had cheap DVD players then. I thought about picking up another one for myself. hmmm

I've seen them here for that, by Chinese brands I wouldn't trust.

But then $34 here would buy three very nice meals out for me and the wife.

$34 for a DVD player though. disbelief

Does it work? lol

I think I once bought a $29 DVD player. The component video outputs were screwed up, though, and the result was a pink-tinted picture. I exchanged it for another one... same problem. So I figured they were all defective. But hey, what do you expect for $29? I hooked it up with an S-Video cable instead, and it worked fine.

Eventually I just gave it away. Last I heard it still works, although the tray doesn't always open and close properly.

seriously though, you are absolutely right. the more expensive and the
more functions and little buttons, the more things can fuck up.

just a simple, good player with a limited amount of functions is best
imo. the less gimmicks, the less chance stuff goes bust.

well, you get what you pay for..and that's not a bad thing.
dvd-players in the $25-40 range are great for general purpose use, like if you still have a regular tube tv.there's just one video jack and two audio jacks, so you'll get the lowest resolution picture on dvd.

$50-75 will get you s-video and progressive scan dvd players, with a sharper picture

$75-100 will get you hdmi output, which is great for people with plasma or hdtv's, and true dolby 5.1 output

pay anything more than that and it's really not worth it anymore

JM2 Cents.
you look better on your facebook page than you do in person hmph!
