curious what you guys/gals thought of it ... it was

on my mind here today ... in many respects it is so true

to the comic book ... but ... i was disappointed :

a.the batmobile ... tank i should say ... was it necessary

to this movie ??? mad neutral confused

b. the directing ... fight scenes were VERY HARD to watch ...

i mean- this quick FLASH fighting , etc ... it was obvious

Liam Nielson is gettin old ... so they could just show a snap

of his one arm moving smile --- but .... i found myself looking

i thought it was a little bit murky looking and slow moving, but i liked the "grown up" take on the batman story. i don't know if i could take a whole series of movies that are so opaquely noirish and plodding, but it was an interesting take. i'd love it if they did a new batman franchise where each movie is given to a different director who has an innovative style. THAT would be fun.

I thought that it was AWESOME!!!

I was dissapointed with that "military-style" batmobile look (even though I understand why they did it)...and I also thought that the final "train-speeding-outta-control" scene was a bit lame (a bite off Spidey 2)...but overall I was pleased.

Rumor has it that plans are in the works for the sequel. Joker will be the villain, and Harvey Dent will be introduced/featured (he turns into Two-Face).
Katie Holmes supposedly was NOT asked to come back!!!

No, no, no!!!!! That's what nearly killed the franchise with the Asshole Known as Joel Schumacher. Batman Begins was a GODSEND for us comic-book fans. It reminds me of Frank Miller's Batman:Year One graphic novel. Nolan should do every Batman film, because he 'gets it'. Batman is supposed to be dark & brooding - he's the opposite of Supes.

Katie Holmes' character was one of those whiney women that I could just do without. She was just too high-maintenance. Besides, she has a big butt. disbelief

Well, that's what he WOULD have said. lol

Er, didn't they already do that movie in 1989?

The film had mucho energy and machismo (especially it's score), but lacked a bit on the thought out details and plot... but overall was enjoyable for me.

ya i agree...that car was really to cater to the modern movie goer. total hollywood OTT. and as for the fight scenes, i felt the same way too. i understand that the fight scenes were supposed to represent some kind of mysterious figure that no one could see in a battle. but they too gave me a headache.
as i said before, i really didn't like when Batman showed up either. he just seemed like a bog ol palooka.

The fight scenes were a bit too dark and chaotic when you think of what they could have come up with, considering all that special martial arts training at the beginning of the movie.

I didn´t like the Batmobile, it looked more like a tank than a car.

Nolan seems to "get" Batman, this one came pretty close to the dark and brooding character from the comics..unlike that travesty with George Clooney and Schwarzenegger...I also didn´t find Micheal Keaton very convincing...then again, George Clooney came closest to the comic book character Bruce Wayne regarding his playboy look.
Still, Christian Bale is my favorite Batman actor up to now.

Liam Neeson did an OK job as Ras Al Ghul...at least he looked a bit like the real Ras Al Ghul..

I wonder if they´ll ever make a movie based on The Lazarus Pit....that´s one of my favorite Batman comics from my favorite era...back when Batman was fit and lean and didn´t look like a wrestling pro.

Hope they won´t forget to include Talia.

I basically agree with you. I hate Schumacher and wanted to beat his ass when I was in the 8th grade for ruinin everything, but Chris Nolan is erratic and hit or miss on film. Memento: amazing. Insomnia: God-awful. Batman Begins: pretty dope. Batman Begins 2 may costar Robin Williams as Joker and Al Pacino as Batman and cause me to go apeshit at a National Amusements theater.

feeling ill Those first two films were a mockery of the Batman lore. Mr. Mom as Batman??? Someone was on crack. His prosthetic jaw piece and toupé did not make him Batman.

The new movie was cool, it has it's flaws, but is a million times better than any of the previous attempts.

I didn't know Batman has a lisp????

Did any one else notice that. Once I seen that in the movie it ruined it for me. I really like the origin story but not the ending. Ducard/Ras's character was cool and the Scarecrow. But once I seen Christian Bale lisp in the costume, that was all I was focused on. Check it out again. Man that was terrible, I mean they couldn't get someone w/out a lisp?????

Thank you. Tim Burton's Batman '89 was good for its time(second one sucked), but Batman Begins is closer to Frank Miller's Dark Knight. Burton played around with the story(the Joker never killed Bruce's parents).

I hate it when they do that. The final straw for me came when they tried to pass Batgirl off as Alfred's niece. mad

I didn't like how he tried to make his voice all deep and scary when he had the Batsuit on though. That was just silly.

Overall I liked this movie -it's the best one so far. My one problem with it was that I couldn't help but think of Christian in Velvet Goldmine sporting makeup and shagging Ewan McGregor. lol

Does this mean Batman and Obi-Wan are bed buddies? hmm
