Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes: no Scientology birth, after all?!?

Whoops! The reports were evidently wrong. Tom Cruise has announced that it’s completely OK for his lovely fiancee and baby mama to emit noise during her birth. He says, “I want Kate to be as comfortable as possible and whatever she’s going to go through she’s going to go through and I’m going to be there. She’s going to make noise, I’m sure.”

Darn. There goes, like, half the jokes the media is making about Tom and Katie! What, oh what, will we do?

"Tom turns his back on Scientology!"

How Simply COSMOPOLITAN Of HIM...Oh She Can be HUMAN? Kinda Foolish to say all that about Making Noise. What Birth would she be having that's Scientology? Underwater? Is she going Natural?

The silent birth itself is what Scientologists believe in doing. Lisa Remini, an actress on a t.v. show, did a silent birth and it was documented on camera. I was shocked she was really being quiet

To be honest, I was pretty quiet during the birth of my last baby, my husband thought it wasn't hurting me that much (like HELL!!!! mad ) I was just counting the breaths through the contractions, it was all I could do to get through it, and it was just the sound of my breathing, no screaming.

What's the point in staying silent? What is the reasoning behind that?
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

Supposedly it's traumatic for the baby or something. Like *I* remember all that when I was born. rolleyes

Not just scientologists, but lots of birthing educators and authors say that a hospital birth with all the bright lights and noise is a traumatic entrance into the world, supposedly can have s detrimental effect on the child's personality. They dimmed lights right down when Max was born, and everybody was quiet!
THen again, there is your good reason why babies can't remember anything long term until they are 3 years old biggrin

He has a new publicist. I would bet dollars to doughnuts it'll be a strict Scientology wacky birth and they'll try and silence her.

I really don't understand the difference between a scientology birth and all other types of birth.....As far as I know, and female biology could have changed in the past few years...but I doubt it...babies still shoot out the same place no matter what...unless of course there is a C Section....So is there something I am missing here hmmm I mean is there really a stork that just drops babies from the sky....

Let just hope it gets its mothers looks and not its fathers looks. giggle

scientologists require a 'silent birth' where the mother can't utter a sound or else she scar the baby's 'reactive memory'.

Im more concerned how the poor dear got herself knocked up ? Mr Cruise has had cancer and therfore I assume he has had either or both chemo and radiotherapy which would make him sterile . And the matter of his 2 adopted children arises suspicion .

Wake up Katie , your engaged to a mo lol
