The Tonight Show with Jay Leno sometime this past week?????

He interviewed this man who was 100 YEARS OLD and was the oldest working man in the USA. This man still worked at a sporting goods store in Sioux City, Iowa!!

THIS TYPE OF THING WOULD NEVER HAPPEN HERE IN THE UK!!!!! U ARE PUT INTO FORCED RETIREMENT HERE AT AROUND 45 - 50!!!!!

Also a couple of months ago on Fox there was a report of an elderly lady who went back 2 University at 69 and left at 71 with Communications and Computer Degrees with A JOB OFFER!!!! And on top of that the University made her their Homecoming Queen cos she was so well loved and admired!!!!

WHY CANT THIS SORT OF THING HAPPEN HERE IN THE UK?????

WHY CANT THE UK GIVE MIDDLE-AGED AND ELDERLY PEOPLE THE OPPORTUNITY 2 EXCELL THEMSELVES AND FULLFILL THEIR POTENTIAL?????

THE THING IS HERE U CAN LEARN, LEARN, LEARN ALL U WANT BUT THERES NO GUARANTEE THAT U WILL GET A JOB AT THE END OF ALL YOUR YEARS OF LEARNING!!!!

Its simple.....if you are worthwhile as an employee or actually any good at anything then in the UK you can work as long as you want or do anything you want...however if you are a worthless moaning sponging piece of lazy crap then chances are you will strugglle. My husband has gone for job after job here over the past 2 years since he turned 50 last year and immediately firms look at the birthdate on his CV they dont wanna know!!!!!

Also here they dont want 2 give disabled people a chance here!!! Its still the old Victorian attitude of "Out of sight, out of mind" regarding disabled people!! If it wasnt for the fact that we are returning back 2 the USA, I would literally fear for my sons future here!! He has ADHD/Tourettes Syndrome and also slight Asperges Syndrome and yes hes going 2 College here but he would never b considered for any jobs here cos of his condition!!!! If my husband cant get work here and he has diabetes, what chance does our son have????

A little story for you.

When i brought my first house in 1994 i stretched myself to the limit....really maxed out and because of that i was looking for a better job. I went for an interview with Canon. I walked back in to my existing job and my boss called me in to his office. I worked in a sales environment as an account manager and because Canon were a competitor my boss felt i was a risk to his business. I was sacked and asked to clear my desk.....escorted from the premesis and taken to the train station as my car was also taken due to it being a company car. It took me 2 hrs to get home.....to a home i had not even made my first mortgage payment on.
I got in to the front room and looked at myself in the mirror....the failure of a man a burst in too tears. That feeling lasted all of 30 seconds.....I had a mortgage to pay and a wife to support.
I got on it and within 4 hrs had a new job.... i called everyone i knew that could help or who might know someone that could help.
I was a salesman before and i ended up working as an engineer for a geotechnical firm.....down railway tunnels covered in shit on the night shift. But it was work and it paid the mortgage. As it happend they saw my sales potential and a year learning the nitty gritty down holes lead to a sales job and travelling the world so it worked out.


Then again i could have just got on the org and moaned, or maybe left the country.

She is a teacher and specialises in work and life placements for kids with asperges, autism,adhd etc..... in the last 5 years only 1 kid has left her care without a job /residential work placement.... and you know why that was???? Because the parents didn't feel he could cope.
