Corey Haim is 34 today!!! OMG, My friends and I are trippin' about how old we must be for him to be 34. I loved him in License to Drive, Dream A Little Dream, and The Lost Boys. He had some other movies I can't think of right now, but I thought he was sooo cute and had a major crush  My goodness! | |

there is a late 80's HBO documentary/profiule on him that we once rented that was hilarious (filled with record scratch sound effects and freezeframes). And in one part he shows of his little keyboard home studio and says he really is inspired by..... PRINCE!

yeah, or he could've done something like that hotline that Lisa Simpson called -- "The Corey Line" or whatever it was. Corey could've charged $2.00 a minute and read from the phonebook or a life insurance brochure or something. he could've made some money that way, i'd bet. or at least 10.00 for a hamburger dinner and a milkshake. | |

I think it's tough for child actors growing up and not really being able to cross over to the adult market. Also, they are exposed to things early on, i.e drugs, e.g Drew Barrymore etc. Although she made it in acting as an adult.

[Edited 12/23/05 12:01pm] i agree. they're exposed to way too much at an early age and so many of them end up in sad situations after they've grown up and Hollywood discards them. it messes with a person's head and self-esteem/self-worth to be, one day, making enormous amounts of money and being SO adored by the public and the media - and then, when you've grown up and out of the "cute kid" phase, nobody cares, you can't get work anymore in the industry and you're struggling to just make ends meet. i suppose a huge part of how things play out depends on the child actor's parents, and how they handle their child's fame and prepare them for the future.
