Snopes is usually a reliable source, but their answer is somewhat incorrect. Why?
Coca-Cola still contains trace amounts of cocaine. I believe I read this in one of the Big Secrets books by William Poundstone. In a nutshell, while Coca-Cola removes the cocaine from the coca leaves, it is impossible to get every last little bit out. Understand: the amount of cocaine in a can of Coke is almost nothing, and you can forget about getting high off of it. But it is in there. Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position. |

coke or Coke? I think pretty much everybody was addicted to Coke and Juicy Fruit and similar mass-consumer products in the eighties. It was the age of Michael Jackson, shoulder pads and hair spray after all. | |
