Ask JediMaster- Episode V: The Geeks Strike Back

Okay, it's that time again. No, not the Christmas season (well, it is that too, but it isn't nearly as cool as the fact that it is time for another installment of)

ASK JEDIMASTER!

Yes, folks, this is where you ask those annoying, ridiculous geek questions that only your dweebie ass cares about! Wanna know who would win in a fight between Robocop and R2-D2? ASK JEDIMASTER! Wanna know if a lightsaber will cut adamantium? ASK JEDIMASTER!! Wanna know how it is that 2the9s is able to have sex with his pet cat? Errr, ask him, I ain't goin' there!

He will if the Force is strong enough with him.

Let's just say that I've seen all of them WAY more times than twice!

He most certainly could (when have you ever seen Santa with a lightsaber?)! However, since he is a gentle soul, and Santa is a servant of the Light, Yoda would only aide Kris Kringle in his quest to bring happiness to children around the galaxy.

I think it would be a bad thing. I think the movies have run their course. If anything, only a series based years later (post NJO perhaps) would be successful. Making a prequel story to a prequel trilogy would work for a novel, though.

As stated in Episode II, the Jedi ability to use the Force had diminished. As Yoda stated, "The Dark Side clouds everything!"

why did darth vader get cyborg legs and arms when clearly palpatine had technology to clone himself yet couldn't grow an arm or a leg in a petri dish?

I think the damage was just too extensive to Anakin's body to go about it other than mechanically, but I could be wrong. Maybe it was done that way on purpose by Palpatine.

does vader's high metal content mean that magneto could crush him with a wink?

If Vader was caught off-guard and didn't have time to repress Magneto's powers, then I'd say yes.

Now we'll see what JM says. razz

thumbs up! Good response. I hope Timothy Zahn does this. I loved his Thrawn trilogy. Kevin J Anderson is good also. Maybe this would be good animated like the animated shorts set between 2 and 3. I'd love it as a novel though and maybe it could introduce Maul

That kind of thing is best left for the novels. What would they call it? Epidode 1/2?

The clones are bred to be COMPLETELY obedient to the chain of command, with Supreme Chancellor Palpatine at the top of that chain. Until Order 66 is implemented, there is no way that Yoda could sense that they would turn on him and the Jedi, simply because they WOULDN'T turn without that order. The clones aren't duplicitious, so their is no premeditation in their turn. They are just "following orders". This is why Yoda senses nothing until the moment before the clones attack him. Many other Jedi, no doubt, sensed this attack moments before it happened, but just didn't react fast enough out of shock (none were expecting their loyal troops to turn on them).

why did darth vader get cyborg legs and arms when clearly palpatine had technology to clone himself yet couldn't grow an arm or a leg in a petri dish?

Two reasons. First off, the Kamino cloners charge hefty prices, and only clone in mass quantities. Cloning in the SW universe is a pricey proposition, and it is doubtful that a hateful ass like Palpatine would spend the change.

Second, it is addressed in Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader by James Luceno, that Vader's suit is actually a pretty cheap piece of crap. Palpatine puts him in this antiquated armour in order to make Vader more reliant on the Empire's medical and technological resouces. Palpatine wants Vader to remain an obedient lapdog, and that is just one way he has to control him.

does vader's high metal content mean that magneto could crush him with a wink?

hmmm

It IS possible, but Magneto would have to act EXTREMELY quickly. All Vader would have to do is use the Force to fling ol' Maggie across the room, knock him out, and then behead him with the trusty lightsaber. It could happen, but Magneto would have to hurry the hell up.

I'm still hoping for an animated adaptation of the Shadow of the Empire stuff. Something that combined the story from the novel, comic and game would be cool (especially the subplot of Boba Fett from the comic. That RULED!).

If you are wanting pre-prequel stories, check out The NEW Essential Chronology. It recaps the entire history of the SW universe from several thousand years before the prequels, all the way up to the NJO stuff. It is also a handy resource for finding out where all the orginal stories were published.

Q, hands down. Q liked to sport groovy starfleet costumes and other such stuff. The Beyonder dressed like a dorkus from the 80s, with a really stupid mullet. Q's fashion sense alone gives him the edge.
