so THAT's what you've been up to. well, earn away!

it's been a good day. besides being elected hottie, i'm starting to get over my cold (woot!), my husband found me a car (98 Renault Clio II, in my favorite shade of bottle green) and I found an author-signed copy of Garson Kanin's "Tracy Hepburn" in the American club's dollar book bin (which I'm in charge of keeping at my house)... eek shhh the cats are sleeping, E is with her grandparents and F is off all next week. woot!

i really ought to try to get out to Nebraski again, in like February!! could manage maybe 2 weeks if i play my cards right... E misses her grandparents!! we might have to avoid Hiro's this time tho. confused

avoid hiro's!! never!! well, ok, as long as there is some other sushi place we can eat at. maybe we could dine with the "plastics" again at blue?

speaking of nebraski, we had a big snow storm in this area last weekend. i was working my part-time job (waitressing banquets at a hotel in GI) and i got snowed in! i was stuck there sunday night, then my sister (who lives in GI and was watching A) came by to drop the little one off monday morning, and she couldn't get out of the parking lot! we were all stuck there all day monday, and monday night. i didn't get home til tuesday afternoon! it was a crazy weekend. but i got to waitress the restaurant in the hotel monday. the interstate was closed so everyone was stopping and getting a room, and they all wanted to eat, and there was only one person working the restaurant (monday is usually the slowest day) so i helped out. we got slammed!! it was so busy! but i made over $100 in tips!! biggrin of course, i earned it! i didn't sit down more than 15 minutes from 10am to 10pm!

so, if you want to come to nebraski, wait til after the snow melts. biggrin

nod Always a good idea to avoid Nebraska until the snow is gone (which will be, like, mid-June wink ).

Y'all should go to The Bohemian Cafe upon your next visit! One of the few things I miss about Nebraska.

good for you! which restaurant are you at? we used to stop a lot in Grand Island, on trips back and forth from Denver. GI gets the craziest weather tho - what's up with that?

I've skiied in Norway every year the past twenty years or so. Geilo has some good slopes, even though they're not very long. I've also been to Banff, but I must say that Whistler tops them all. Incredible skiing there.

Tignes, aux Angles, some little places in the Pyrenees... Depends on if it's for a week or a weekend. I think Tignes is my favorite.

OH yeah, what was that cool place right on the border of Italy...Mt. Geneve, does that sound right? That place is downright charming, w/ its little village & all, and cheap liquor just over the border. smile

As harsh as that sounds, it is an accurate estimation of the situation.
