Question for the Dutchies I'm making a listening-exercise for my students based on 'Welterusten, meneer de president', basically because we've been discussing the Vietnam-period in class.
Anyhow, I need to know what instuments are in this song. I have the cd here, but no instruments are mentioned. Do you have a version at home that says this, or are you an extremly good googler? I know, Abierman, this may be stereotyping, maybe worse than the weed-stereotype, but still... it's urgent.

Boudewijn de Groot is a singer-songwriter who mostly performed with just his guitar and/or harmonica.
He did perform with a band though; drums, bass, guitar, harmonica etc. I guess it does depend on the version you have. You don't scare me; i got kids

Thanks for trying. I made a test that will be dead-easy for those who know the song, and not so simple for those who don't even know what 'Mei '68' stands for. (= 80 percent of them). But if you're a good listener, it should actually be easy no matter what your background is. To make listening-exercises is really one of the most difficult thing being a language-teacher.

I hate the song.....it is so easy to be a lefty and just stand there and piss on the world if you don't like it.....just like Raymond van 't Groenewoud's anti-America song from just recently (to give a belgian example

But I'm not going to discuss the value of this song. I'm happy to have a listening-exercise ready, that's what matters right now. I never heard Raymond's song, so on this issue I should also keep my mouth shut. This 'stereotyping'-comment was made because I saw you complaining about the drug-image the Netherlands have. So I thought calling my thread 'Question for the Dutchies' could also be called stereotyping, presuming all Dutchies know the song.
