Depends on the strength of the relationship i had with them, my grandfather passed 9 yrs ago and i can see and hear him so clearly, my best mate was killed out riding with me 10 yrs ago ....same with him.

I do tend to forget, and then I cant remember any of those things when I conciously try to, but then I'll dream about the person and its all crystal clear in the dream. Always affects me for days afterwards because it was so real. I have dreams like that all the time

I have a cousin Shawn. I hadn't seen him in 14 years. However, I didn't meet up with him in the phyical world, we found eachother over the net. I am not sure how this would fit in. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

Nat,
When my dad died, the hard part after the loss was trying to hold on to the memories.....the memories of his face, his voice, the funny things he did, the art he created...watching him draw.....all that stuff that you know is entwined with loss. I felt like after losing him it was not fair to lose all the other, too. And yes, things faded, but your parents never are that far..fond memories will flood you one moment, and the next it will be one of those that brings a smile to your face and you just feel that person there. Write them down, every time you can. Write them and feel them and know that as grief eases--I know, it never goes away--you will recall more...and these recollections will come at times when you think "wow, I needed that", because she is out there, giving that gift to you, and its now time to take the gift, the memories, the visions in dreams as gifts of her presence still with you, not as a loss. God, I hope that it was okay to write all this outside of an orgnote.....

I don't easily forget people's voice and mannerisms. Especially from friends or people I got to know well. Sometimes I think of people who I once knew and then I remember specific situations and the way they spoke and acted.

I can still picture my brother's voices, and their smiles, mannerisms.
It has been 29 years since they passed to the stars.. ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^

Oh my God!!! I freaked out right after my mom died. I couldn't remember what her voice sounded like. This was not even a week after. The same thing happened with my best friend that recently died. It is a trip. It sounds weird but I finally made a space in my brain for their voices. I can now remember them clearly. When I close my eyes I can hear my dad's voice...just as clear as it was eight years ago...I can feel his big, rough hands...just as they were when he held my hand...I can see his wise, hazel eyes looking back at me...
All the memories come back, Nat...

I have thought of this very thing many times.
Here is what comes to mind when I think of such a moment: If ever I were to hear your voice A second of recgonition will turn to tears of recollection

I think I know who you're talking about. There's a cruel mechanism in our heads that make things slip away if we're too afraid to lose them and focus too much on bringing them back. When we relax, the memories return to us. They're forever stored in there somewhere. So don't worry, you haven't forgotten, even though it might seem that way sometimes.

Personally, I alwayz remember the way old friendz are/were. They're voice and mannerismz connect with their vibe- which was how i connected with them on some level. And that'z what made it cool hangin around them! And that'z how i always remember them!! No hablo espanol,no! Pero hablo ingles..ssii muy muy bien... Missy Quote of da Month: "yeah, sure, that's cool...wait WHAT?! "
