GAP cloths ROCK!

I love GAP. Some people who I tell this to say stupid shit to me like "GAP that was so 89", but I am not like that. What am I like? Blue Jeans, T-shirts, sweats, I don't care who's on my naked ass as long as it is warm, covered and comfertable. This is why I love GAP. I shop at Gap.com because I can get the stuff shipped to my home. I can find sizes that are not avilable in the stores.

I am waiting on a gap.com order today. I got a pair of jeans, t-shirt, hoody zip up, nitt cap, sox, underware, slippers and a couple of sweatpants to cut up.

I LOVE GAP.

99.99995 percent of my life has been spent in blue jeans, t-shirts and sweats. I like it that way.

I used to really like the Gap too (when i could afford to shop there lol), but then last year I saw this documentary in a cultural anthropology class that was about the horrendous working conditions the people who make their clothes endure. disbelief

American-based retailers, specifically Gap, Old Navy, and Nike, have a large percentage of their clothing made in factories in Indonesia and other parts of Southeast Asia (as well as other third-world countries). These factories aren't directly run by the companies, but are instead run by contractors out of Thailand and Korea. The contractors hide details of the worker abuse from any emissaries the companies might send out, but nevertheless evidence has come to light about 20-hour workdays in which the worker is paid only the equivalent of a dollar or two, and the companies predictably choose to ignore it in favor of profits.

so now I don't let myself go in there anymore so as not to be tempted to buy anything.

Well, thanks for the responce. I thought this thread was going to sink quickly to a deep dark death.

As for the documentary, as a documentarian I can say documentaries are not quite the documents that the name sudgests. They are, next to, always leading the watchers view point. This isn't right, but no one seems to think it is wrong but me.

Everything can be compaired to a coin. Everything has two sides, at least, and it depends upon the filp of the coin.

Poor nations are poor, and that is what sucks for them. No one can actually tell me they are not better off before when they had no means of making money. This world is going global. It isn't fair. There are many problems with human rights. Not only abroad but here at home too.

If you look too deeply into anything you will find reason not to suport it. I however need jeans over my ass. I still Love Gap!

hmmm I sense a slight marxist in ya!! You have a point though- there are many sidez to the one story- which one do you choose to follow- if you truly feel da need to follow in the first place. But then again to stand back and be neutral is more post-modernist. hmmm But yet choosing to do so on a more sceptical level is marxist. Argh, i'll shuddup now lol i've just gone off on a completetely different tangent!! LOL my apologies!!!

I'm SO not a Gap girl. They have a few cute things now and again, but in general, just not my style. But hey, if ya like it, ya like it. smile

yeah, i have no real proof that what i viewed was 100% accurate, but i believe it. my main "cause" is human rights.

auugh...don't remind me about their jeans! sad i have lots of trouble trying to find pants that fit me and are long enough, and Gap was one of the few places where i could find some.

I am a biological being on an unfriendly rock.
I am a spiritual angel with huge spiritual.... sward.
I have seen many lifetimes, with many people following after many world goals.
I have seen them all fade away with the passing of a few hundred years.
I know nothing has meaning until it is time for meaning to be had.
I know I am part of that and thus the pain makes me glad.
I need enough to life in this biological DNA wet suit.
I need enough spiritual juice to suit my sweet tooth.
I am here but not at all, and I was there but now I am just writting on the wall.

For a while I started buying GAP jeans because they fit really well...but then I noticed that they rip very easily. I'm rough on my jeans, so if I pay GAP money for a pair of jeans, they'd better LAST.

I'm back to Levi's now...or Old Navy (they aren't as hardy, but you can't beat those prices!!!)

The only place I have had trouble with my Gap Jeans ripping, and I too am hard on my cloths, is in the area around the back too loops for the belt. This is user error however because I grab a hold of them loops to yank the jeans back up onto my ass when they start slidding.

Old Nave is a sister store to Gap.

Levi's: although they make a strong jean, squeeze me in places I don't like.

Have a couple of pairs of jeans from there but I tend to avoid Gap. They rarely have stuff cute enough to buy for their ridiculous prices confused

Gave up Old Navy YEARS ago, their clothes went to absolute SHIT...

Somebody said they're back to Levi's - me too woot! It's about time they got some variety in their line biggrin

Now if only I could get these People's Liberation jeans out of my head sigh

$224, I just can't fuck w/ that price... disbelief
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart
