Greek Food

So, my bride and I were to go out tonight to fetch some dinner. I thought we were going for chineese, but the place we wanted to go had an hour wait. So we were on our way to another place when we found a new place opening up in a new location. The place we had eaten at before in another city. It was very good and we thought we would go there tonight.

The Place is called: My Big Fat Greek Restaurant

It has this one feast plate that is basicly everything in litte amounts. That is what we got. It's great eating and it made me wonder.

Does anyone here like greek food? Does it make you feel like you are falling in love?

Reincarnate

I love Greek food - I have a lot of Greek/Cypriot friends so I eat Greek quite frequently. It's probably my favourite apart from Indian.

i love greek food. i love middle eastern food. the best thing about it is that it's so easy to make, and that it's also filling without being too heavy. it's just as appetizing and satisfying in the dead of winter as it is on the hottest day in summer.

I have looked at some eastern food restraunts, but was afraid to venture in because I wasn't sure what I would order. Anything good I should keep an eye out for if I do go?

falafel is AWESOME. get a falafel sandwich in a pita, you'll be hooked.

babaganoush is great, too - it's a kind of dip/dressing made from eggplant and spices. good stuff.

hummous is great as well - it's ground chickpeas and it's kinda like babaganoush, only a bit blander.

i also really REALLY love stuffed grape leaves (also known as dolma), which is seasoned rice wrapped in tender grape leaves. great side dish. think of 'em as middle eastern tater tots. biggrin
