My wife dealt with gallstones a little over a year ago, and she was in a lot of pain. She had surgery to get them out.

Holy topic of the day! These were discussed at lunch today. I've had them, as did one of my co-workers. Painful as all hell. Especially when they passed through a catheter in my penis. I used to not be able to talk about it without doubling over. I shall pray that you do not, or that they pass gently and quickly.

ouch, sounds like trouble in river city.
hopefully it's detected early enough that it's relatively painless...i'm sure it won't feel pretty, but maybe you'll luck out and it'll be a quick zap like supa said. i know people who have gone through this and they said it was painful, but they also talked about it like it wasn't a huge horrible thing...just a really nasty inconvenience. i'd get it checked, but don't get too terribly worried. easy for me to say, huh

Thanks guys...
I'm hoping that it's not a big deal and I don't have them. I went to the doc with a bladder infection today and (sorry to be gross) there was a ton of bleeding...that's why he's concerned about the stone thing.

had them ... worst pain ever, even over 2 unmedicated childbirths
i would have rather been in the emergency room giving birth again i have a very high pain threshold ... i was doubled over ... throwing up and almost blacking out from the pain after 6 + hrs of that... it passed

My father has them very, very bad. About once a year or so he has an attack and has to be addmitted to the hospital. You're given IVs for fuilds because you're too sick to want to drink any and loads of pain killers (morphine drip) because it is extremely painful. My dad's nightstand drawer is full of half used Percocet and vicodin bottles. He has them so badly that his doctor broke them up with ultrasound. He said all that did was bust up the bigger pieces into smaller ones and that he will still eventually pass them, but a least they won't be as big. Two years ago he missed Christmas Eve and day because he was knocked out passing stones. Drew has had them 3 times in his life, I've been with him for 10 years and was with him for the last time. It's bad!
I forgot this was about you! I hope all goes well for you. Socks still got butt like a leather seat...
