Up until about a year/18 months ago we used 2 go on shopping trips 2 Southampton a lot, which is about 28 - 30 miles away from us, for a change and we used 2 shop in a shopping mall there called West Quay and there was a Cinnabon there which served delicious HUGE hot cinnamon rolls in various flavours and varieties with coffee and everything and u could even ask for extra little containers of icing and while u were eating u could actually see them being made(I was totally amazed when I saw them there as we used 2 dive into Cinnabon a lot when we lived in the USA). Anyway, because we hadnt been 2 Southampton in a year/18 months and because we have had some tax windfalls lately we decide 2 go for a trip 2 Southampton 2day and anyway all during the drive there my gastric juices were flowing in anticipation of tucking into a really nice Cinnamon Roll with extra icing and a coffee!!! I just couldnt get there quick enough!!!

Anyway, after the drive and then queuing up for around 1/2 hour 2 get into the car park, we finally enter the shopping mall and then we get 2 the main Mall center and HORROR OF HORRORS, we discovered that Cinnabon had closed down!!!

I couldnt beleive it!!!!

This has made me even more determined 2 get back 2 the USA even quicker!!!!!

I really hope you get your wish and return to the states soon..

as for the "dilemma": man, there are worse things going on the world right now than the close of a cruddy franchise. feel sad about that.

Actually probably one of the causes is the extortionate high leases and not getting the custom 2 offset these high leases, even though a place can b jam packed with customers year round!!!

A case in point is here in Bournemouth, 2 years a go a new L-Shaped shopping precinct/strip mall opened called Castlepoint and in that time 2 stores have already closed down due 2 the high leases and not enough custom 2 cover the leases let alone everything else!!! And one of those stores was Choices Video and DVD Rental Store!! The thing is it was in a lucrative position, right inbetween 2 restaurants(Frankie & Bennys and Nandos) and so u would think that people coming out of the restuarants would go straight into Choices 2 rent DVDs, etc. for the rest of their evenings, but apparently one of the shop assistants told me that its because even though they had lots of customers the business didnt offset the overheads!!! And the other store was Suit Direct(they rent and sell mens suits and other mens formal wear) which I imagine wasnt very busy anyway!!

Not 2 mention the fact that Castlepoint has been in constant repair ever since it opened, but thats another story!!!
