Let's ask JimmyNothing... What's the difference between Wing Tsun and other forms of Kung Fu?
What's the smartest thing you've ever done? Do you prefer Prince on guitar or piano? Tell us just one thing you want the org to know. No More Haters on the Internet.

Hmmmm the difference between Wing Tsun and other forms of Kung Fu....
Here's a history of the style... (in my own words) Wing Tsun (also spelled Wing Chun) was invented by a Shaolin Nun from the Shaolin Temple. Legend has it that the temple was attacked and only 4 monks and one nun (named Ng Mui) escaped. They all seperated and began to teach their respective arts to students. Ng Mui's first student was a lady named Yim Wing Chun which translates to mean Perpetual Springtime. Yim Wing chun was supposed to marry a man with whom she wasn't in love and made a deal with him that if she could beat him in a fight, then she wouldn't have to marry him. Ng Mui stripped down the best of what the Shaolin Kung Fu style had to offer and trained her for one year. At the end of that year, Yim Wing Chun fought her prospective husband and won. The moves that Ng Mui taught Yim Wing Chun were all designed for the weaker person to be able to beat a stronger opponent. This makes sense because if you think about it, a person would (generally) only start a fight with you if they were sure of the outcome. (Sun Tzu said that you should only ever go to war when you were certain of a victory in The Art of War) So in effect, it is useless to learn strong or hard styles which pit strength against strength as, assuming that you do not start the fights, you will always lose as your opponent will be stronger than you. This is why Wing Tsun uses the opponents energy against them. The most famous practitioner of Wing Tsun was the late Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee trained under Yip Man, who also taught my instructor's instructor (Si Fu) Leung Ting. Bruce went on to develop his own style (although he said that it wasn'ta style) called Jeet Kune Do. The most famous training drills in Wing Tsun are the Wooden Dummy and Chi Sau, or Sticky Hands There are no blocks in Wing Tsun- simply deformations of what was an attack. The style is also based on simple principles such as... Economy of Motion Centre Line Theory If the way is obstructed, stick Yield to a greater force For reference check out www.wtdefence.com http://www.wingchun.com/wtmain.htm (this has some video clips) Put yourself on the worldwide org map! www.frappr.com/princeorg

Do I prefer Prince on Piano or Guitar?
Well, I would have to say hands down, guitar. I really do love him on Piano. The Lovesexy Live piano set was awesome and one of the highlights of the ONA tour was the Piano section- very intimate. BUT, the Musicology acoustic set was amazing, imho. And there is nothing quite like the raw energy that he puts into his guitar playing. The Undertaker video is a great example. One of my favourite Prince albums is The Truth and pretty much the only instrument on the LP is the guitar. My most prized possession is my Hohner Prinz Put yourself on the worldwide org map! www.frappr.com/princeorg

One thing I want the org to know...
I once got paid £100 to stare at Denise Van Outen's boobs all day! For our American orgers, Denise is a British TV presenter/actress and this is what she looks like... I was an extra in a short movie called Tube Tales and the men had to stare at her cleavage all day on instruction from the director! It's the best £100 I've ever earned!
