I haven't seen Polar Express yet (gonna rent it before I buy), but War of the Worlds was sooooo overrated in my opinion. The ending just peaved me.

co-sign abot WOTW. I liked the majority of the movie and the ending was so completely annoying that it ruined the WHOLE experience for me.

I may see Polar Express. I don't know why, but computer animated PEOPLE frak me out....

well it's entirely possible that an entire neighborhood went unscathed despite the fact that most of the world was scorched and that a rebellious teenager can find his way there with no means of transportation while evading hordes of vicious aliens hmph!

Combine the dead eyes with the shiny skin and Polar Express becomes a Christmas pageant enacted by the kids from Village of the Damned after being dipped in wax.-- a reviewer evillol

No. Spielberg CHEATED! The last 2 minutes should have left barely any hope...like with Dakota asking "Is it over Daddy?" and Tom looking up to the sky saying with uncertainty "Yes Honey, it's over" leaving the audiece with "Or is it?" Because the real ending would be Earth as we know it is completly changed and the Aliens would probably come back and take care of us once and for all.

His son would not be alive. Nor would the grand parents and mom. That whole stree was pretty much untouched.

I haven't seen Polar Express, but it looks pretty bad.

As for WotW, I thought it sucked donkey balls. It had so many gigantic plot holes in it (which seems to be a thing with Spielberg these days. Minority Report had an equal amount of gaping logic gaps) you could drive a friggin' truck through 'em. Oh, and the ending was a major cop-out (not the disease part, as that is from Welles' novel. The whole"they find their family in the completely untouched neighborhood" thing). That really pissed me off.
