Parents

Do you live near your parents?

How often do you see them?

How well do you get along with them?
I'm firmly planted in denial

If you lived in the same town as your parents. Would you go to their house everyday? (This is assuming that you do not live with them and have a house/family of your own)

i live in the nearby town ... (15 min drive )

i see my mother 2-3 times a week min (dad passed away a few yrs ago)

i have said i do believe on other threads ... i was in college when i really remember thinking "my parents are strange " .... in general i do get along with my mother - but in her older age --- her negativity about EVERYTHING .. has been amplified ! wink smile (so alot of things i wish i could share with her .... i can not --- especially financial things ...)

my mother lives with us. My dad died 4 years ago.
We got along better when she didn't live here but all in all it's ok. She's very independent and does her own thang usually. She still can piss me off with one word, but that's just the button pushing of a mother and a daughter shrug

How often do you see them? Every other month or so

How well do you get along with them? My mother and I are fairly close. My father and I aren't so much close, but there is love there. But we all get along well.

My mom is about 25minute drive away, but my dad is in a coffin in boston.

I show up a couple of times a week to make sure all is good with the old lady. She's 70 and lives by her self. She's Mostly/Blind Blind.

I give her shit, and she trys to give me shit back. She's lost her touch, and I owe her payback for a childhood worth of pain and anger. So we get along well.

right now i live far away from both my parents and i miss them like mad. Last year, i saw my dad practically every month and i saw my mother twice. that's because she lives in the southwest and i'm an east coast girl. sad but when i lived in the states i would talk to my mother practically everyday. now i talk to her once or twice a week and i speak with my dad every week or so. so yeah, we get along and i love them lots.

Do you live near your parents? no--my dad's 5 hours away.

How often do you see them? i haven't seen my dad in almost 5 years. sad i do talk to 'im on the phone very often, though (in fact he called me today and he's gonna call me again tomorrow).

How well do you get along with them? me and my dad are very close, due to the fact that he raised me by himself after my mom died and we went through a lotta hell afterwards, so we've been real tight.

If mine lived around the corner:
I'd be there for dinner once a week and my mum would be at my house every second day babysitting and I'd get her to walk the kids home from school, and she would do my ironing.

bawl oh why do they have to live 4 hours drive away sad

nod I remember mine as very strict and authoritarian, and now there's nobody to boss around any more.
my folks haven't split (yet) but my mum says the only way she can stay with him is to treat him like someone disabled, to accept that he is no longer in touch with the real world.

sad oh god, she is lucky to have you. That is so awful. But at least she did it, she moved out.
My mum puts up with my dad, she just takes it. When they visit us, she is often not allowed to talk at the dinner table eek he tells her to shut up and stop interrupting. And it is HIM that should shut up! He monologues about things he (and nobody else) is interested in for 20 minutes at a time and expects our full attention even though we have 3 screaming children in the background mad

Do you live near your parents? No, well, they're about 130 miles away.

How often do you see them? About three times per year.

How well do you get along with them? Eh, I'm not too happy with the Ps lately.

My Dad is old and getting senile and I think has dementia. He's highly critical and I don't appreciate it. My Mom is someone I've not ever really gotten along with due to her childishness.

Said too much?

Probably. biggrin
