falling off the FITNESS wagon... I'm
I'm in better shape than I have been in a long time But I caught a cold that lasted for 2 friggin' weeks I'm working 2 jobs right now - 7 days a week, no time off so I didn't exercise while I was sick b/c I knew I couldn't rest enough, didn't want to wear myself out & keep relapsing w/ the damn cold (it's hard enough to get over when you can't take off work!) One job is new, NO good food around there AT ALL, been eating pizza for a fucking week straight AND not eating my usual healthy, smaller meals/snacks throughout the day so my metabolism has gotta be ridiculous right now & here comes gat dayum turkey day a bitch is gonna fuck UP some fattening food And lots of it Still congested, still wanna wait another day or 2 to exercise so I don't relapse. WTF am I supposed to do? Months of working out down the drain in 2 weeks I felt winded going up a few flights of stairs the other day DAMN the common cold!!! AND it's winter ... which means gym only (no outdoor exercise) & a boring routine FRICK!! . [Edited 11/24/05 3:47am]

Two weeks off is nothing and if you are the fitness guru you really wish to be there are plenty of exercises you can do at home or in the gym. Sounds more like you are working harder at making excuses than actually taking a half hour or so to do some basic working out....Hmmmm?

I live in Minnesota and I just got back from a 5 mile run and the temperature is 13 degrees with the wind blowing 20 to 30 mph meaning the windchill was -5. After the first half mile or so I really wasn't cold at all except for maybe my toes. As long as you are dressed properly winter isn't really a reason not to excersize outside.

That's the thing though - I don't mind working out I'd been SO good (4-5 times a week) for the past 5 months, it's making me NUTS to be laid up this long w/o working out. My body FEELS different... slower, not as much pep. I'm eager to get back to it, just don't want this cold to keep hanging on

Having to rebuild & get back to where you used to be? That's why I wish I'd never had to stop

I think if your heart's not in it and you really feel run down it's better to give it a miss. I made up for it today though, so it wasn't like it was two weeks. Still, you shouldn't be too hard on yourself. This thread's not that bad either.
