I just watched this one a couple of days ago. Really cute. Barbara Stanwyck is one of my all-time favorites.

I watch so many holiday movies this time of year, it's almost a full-time job! lol I also love the terrible made-for-TV ones thow show every night on Lifetime TV after Thanksgiving. While it's not a completely Christmas-related movie, I watch Auntie Mame every year at Christmastime. Such a sweet movie!

lol That's one of the funnier moments. John Ritter had me laughing so hard when he was describing the fitting room sex to his boss.

I love Judy Davis! bow

Especially the dinner scene, when the mean old grandma looks at Judy's cooking and says, "I hope you don't expect us to EAT this!"

And Judy gives her a murderous glance and says, "why don't you EAT ME!"

lol

i think it's hilarious. it's about a semi-rich new england couple who get kidnapped right before their annual christmas dinner - and when the family arrives, the kidnapper pretends to be the couple's marriage counselor. the plot gets kind of cheesy sometimes, but denis leary plays the kidnapper, and he's actually kind of good...but judy davis and kevin spacey as the bickering couple are the BEST, and glynnis johns as the evil grandmother is great too - she plays a perfect old battle-axe.

oh, and christine baranski is in it and she's completely, hilariously evil too!

Of course, it`s not as good as the original, but i have a weak spot for it anyway, a real feel-good movie woot!

Great soundtrack, by the way...

Thanks for the description, it sound like a funny movie. I like those kind of silly movies at christmas, they don`t have to have a message or meaning, as long as they make me laugh, i`m satisfied biggrin

I`ve ordered the "carol christmas" on amazon, the one with Tori Spelling as the scrooge. I haven`t seen it before, anyone who have seen it?

It's a Thanksgiving movie, and it's a must-see! Very funny. Jodie Foster directed it.
