England 3, Argentina 2!!!!

Sorry if this has been posted, but even though it was only a friendly, it was so inspiring to see England play so well, so freely and (gasp!) playing out of position sometimes (finially erikson is letting the boys have some free reign.

As usual Rooney kept running at argentina's defense, and now we got a player who the top clubs in the world are petrified of.

Sadly i mised most of the game (work confused ) but still, what a match (highlights i have seen shows i missed a terrific, positive match)

Bring on june 2006.

Scotland VS USA was 1-1. USA are weird, they are ranked 7th in the world by the fia i think? Huh? confused

It was a fantastic match, high level, very competitive yet surprisingly "friendly"

It is early days to say we can win the cup, but my faith in Eriksson is restored. We have a great set of players that when it comes together CAN beat the best. Whether they will or not remains to be seen.

I was shouting the house down on Saturday, I couldn't believe it when that third goal went in, I would have been happy for the draw, it seemed the most deserved score.

I haven't even seen the game unfortunately. I fell asleep before it came on and my wife didn't see fit to wake me. mad But I digress. I heard Gerrard was moved around all over the place. I don't understand why you'd do this. Gerrard is on a par with Lampard as the best midfielder in the country and should be able to play in his best position or indeed wherever he chooses! You don't relegate world class players like him to supporting roles. As an attacking force he right up there (passing, charging forward and creating), only behind Lampard in terms of his goal return, while he's probably the best defensive midfielder in the country (which is what he has over Lampard) should he play more defensively. Surely he should be in the middle. As I said though, I didn't see the game, so I'd like to know what those of you who did watch thought of how Gerrard was used in the game.

I would like to see beckham not take every freekick. Let lampard take one for once, or even rooney!!! Beckham has dropped off with his freekciks for about a year now, come on sven?

Unfortunately, african teams will proberly not get too far next june. They still have too many average players in their squads. They can cause upsets (senegal anyone?) but not enough star players.

Predictions for next summer for world cup winner?:-

England, brazil, italy or argentina.

Holland? Not much chance. Too many internal quabbles as demonstated by italy lasy weekend.

Germany? a young team now, but i cant see enough world class players anymore. Would they of even qualified if they wern't hosts?

France? 2 words-thierry henry. Too much over relience on him. At a world level, he fails to produce the goals needed

Rooney on a free kick? What drugs are you on? lol That little annoying boy would get even more full of himself than he already is if they let him do free kicks... no good shake

As far as France, to make Henry produce in their team they need to create an environment like the one he has in Arsenal.... pity Freddie plays in Sweden mr.green I think we can do well with both Ibrahimovic and Larsson in the team, I say we go out in qf's. Winner? Hard to say but if it's Italy I'll go hang myself. pout

Italy have a realy good chance next year i reckon. France really need to pull something special to even reach the quarters. Seriously.

I know england will not play great every game like argentina or brazil usually do (consistancy is not our strong point), but england do have possibally enough world class players to seriously win next year

Rooney
Lampard
Gerrard
ferdinand

italy are scum.

lol

Lets hope we english dont ruin our reputation for hooliganism over there, we were good in korea last world cup, but then, that was mainly due to the fact some of those twats could not afford plane fair. Also, people in the east actually did not want to fight us, which was good.
