There is something alive on my porch!! I'm kinda creeped out. 
I put a bag of garbage out there earlier, planning to take it to the trash can in the morning. I went out on my porch for a cigarette, and heard something shuffling about. I thought maybe my kitty got out when I went out so I called her. The sound stopped. Then soon the sound started again and the little red handles started moving a bit. I started walking towards it and a shadow moved behind the bag. I went inside and my kitty was there the whole time. I don't know what it is!! Do you think it will go away over night? |

It definitely sounds like you've got either a raccoon or a possum...and you should be wary of both.
Raccoons DO carry rabies, so if you're ever bitten by one (and it gets away) you'll be forced to get rabies shots. Possums are usually out & about in the wee hours of the night, so you may never see one...but I've heard that they can lunge at you if they feel threatened. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory! | |

How did the llittle bugger get in there? Myporch door latch is kinda weak and if it's windy it blows open. I don't think it could have been anything big. But big enough to creep me out!! |

Probably a racoon! They are notorious for loving trash..
