an Ipod or IRiver?

I was looking at the IPod Nano because I see them everywhere, everytime I turn on the TV I see the commercials and stuff, but then the IRiver not only plays music but also comes with a built in FM Tuner, which really makes it convenient for me to listen to the soaps at work. Also, I want something to listen to at the gym without knocking over the cd player or dropping it while on the treadmill.

I heard that most IPods give people trouble, gets stuck, gets scratched easily, etc., etc... I went on some store webites and read some customer reviews and gathered this info...

When I read the reviews for the IRiver, however, they were more on the bright side. When there were complaints it was only because of the ease of downloading the songs onto the device. Other than that, customers who bought the IRiver felt that the sound and quality was way better than that of other MP3 players..most notably the Ipod..

so i'm asking you guys, which one is better...the IPod or the IRiver?

(hint: i'm trying to decide which one i want for X-mas )

IRiver, hands down.

Ipods are tools of the devil.

It's mainly just a personal preference of mine. I've got a Creative ZenMicro, and I know a few people with Irivers, and they're just better players overall than ipods. I don't know if you've used the Itunes software, but personally I think it sucks.
