Whats ur least fav star wars movie.....

....from the new triology?

Maybe revenge of the sith? Some of that dialogue was ridiculously bad

From the old ones?

Return of the jedi. Not a bad movie, but its just a bit dull.

Iam not a big star wars fan, but the new movies were not that bad. and phantom menace had its moments.

sith, hands down. the last half hour or so of that movie gratified everything i loved about those movies since i saw the first one way back when i was seven years old. the rest of the film? eh, ups and downs. but i felt like lucas really TRIED and CARED with ROTS moreso than the other two. i thought there was a fun energy to the first one, but it got so bogged down in its own cult of personality (esp. in a licensing sense) that the punch wasn't quite delivered correctly. i really did not like 'attack of the clones' at all. nothing iconic going on in that one at all, as far as i'm concerned.

I like them all, I agree about the dialogue, though I didn't go to see it for that cool

I am going to catch sooooo much shit for this:

Starwars : A New Hope. Whether you're talking about the original release, or the new version(s), it is by far the worst of the Star Wars movies , IMO.

The acting it is worse than anything on The Phantom Menace, the action is more dull than the first hour of Atack of the clones, and the "weakness" that ultimately opens up the death star to it's eventual demise is so stupid, that I can't bear to watch it.

It's so bad, that when I watch the Empire Strikes back, I almost feel that if you'd add and extra hour to that movie with Luke and Obi One's backstory, it would 've been far better than what we've got.

I'm sorry to those of you who grew up and loved this film (I loved it too growing up), but the fact of the matter is that most of the StarWars movies are not very good. But at least there are things about them that keep them entertaining. With "A New Hope" those pluses are overshadowed by all of the bad things.

oh, whoops, misread the thread title. 'attack of the clones' is my least favorite. 'sith', obviously, is my most favorite of the second trilogy. not to be predictable, but 'empire' is my favorite of them all.

True, i know star wars is not about the dialogue, but the acting aswell was piss poor in sith. We all know Ms Portman can act people off the screen (as seen in the underated beautiful girls and leon) but even she had a static wooden presense thanx to lucas obviously being a shitty director when it comes to the actual acting.

The lines between anakin and padme are so awful. Shit so simple like "u r so beautiful" is 10 times worse then stallones own writing in the rocky movies.

I too have grown to like phantom menace. It has a sense of excitement and energy because i felt the actors and crew knew how big that movie was going to be. The pod race and darth maul were fantastic. And it was a perfect set up for the following movies.....

i agree with anxiety, attack of the clones was too average and took little risks unlike phantom...still, it played it safe and it payed off i guess.

The new triology so badly needed a hans solo character (who basically drives the first set of movies). The actor who played anakin just could not do anything wit the lame lines lucas gave him. Does lucas even rehearse the actors?

Agreed. Star wars movies are the most overated movies ever made. Escapism is one thing, but being hampered by bad acting and scripts is another. Arnie films never looked so good acting wise when next to anakin in sith and attack of the clones.

But there was a point to that. By their discussion of that love has blinded Anakin, Lucas is putting it right out there for us to see that that statement would be entirely true throughout the rest of the movie as he turned to the Dark Side and murdered fellow Jedi just because he wanted to save the one he loved. He denied it at the time, but as the movie went along he would prove otherwise.

Anyway, my choices for worst:
Original trilogy: ROTJ. This would have been better had they not had to rehash the Death Star. However, I can deal with Ewoks, and Ian McDiarmid's performance was spectacular!
Prequel trilogy: TPM. Of course, I'd have to pick on Jar Jar, but I couldn't stand Jake Lloyd's performance here.

? I see ur a big fan, but lucas just cannot direct or write. That writing is appalling. Even prince's writing in "graffiti bridge" was more inventive then lucas'.

I cant buy that explanation, in movies, a bad line is a bad line, no matter what the reason is. U could take those lines as being realistic in the context of the movie and annies love for padme, but even the actual phrasing was bad. Lucas, u ruined ur own movies. Too many yes men.

My girlfriend is a huge fan of Starwars. and won't hear a bad word said about them

So, I hope she doesn't read this.

Attack of the clones was very poor. I would have left halfway through if I wasn't with my girlfriend. Sith was good tho'

Anyone done all six films in one day yet? Starting with Phantom Menace
All the world's a funky stage.

Episode 1 is the only movie I find it really hard now to sit through the whole way, so that must be my least favorite. Although, knowing George's justification for the tone of the movie (it's aimed at kids) I must say that my nephew recently saw Ep 1 for the first time and LOVED LOVED LOVED it. So, who knows....

I'd say your love of Prince has blinded you. His writing in GB may not have been worse, but it in NO way is better...

Oh and one more thing. As much as I enjoy Sith. I may never forgive Lucas for absolutely destroying Padme's character. I know she was all preggo and emotional. I know she had to die somehow. But SHEEESH. Is there one scene in the movie when she doesn't cry and pine away for Naboo? Couldn't they have shown her strength at least a few times? Portman can act quite well (see garden State) but NOT with what Lucas gave her...

I cannot watch Return of the Jedi, it's like a made for tv walt disney version of star wars.... by 1984 I realized how much it sucked... by 2005 I actually get depressed by the vibe of it. Awful!!!! The characters are not even one dimensional, it like they have lost all of their personality completely.
